I'm sorry but wtf is all this... I'm schoked. shocked even. I didn't think violence and gaming (One of the games they play is counterstrike...) was a very 'christian' thing. But then everyone's a gamer these days.

    http://www.cgalliance.org/

OMG they have prayer and advice forums... <_< I'm afraid to go in there...
no offence to any christians out there... but its just not the sort of thing one expects to find on forums.

You know, I'm sure there are a lot of people that would disagree with me, and that's fine, they're welcome to their view, just like I'm free to give mine now.

But how fucking pathetic does your life have to be where your religion is that pervasive? Why exactly is believing Jesus is super-cool and awesome used as a front to stitch so many people together for completely unrelated things?
Fucking A number one reasons why christians I know are annoying as shit.

And I'd hate to lose disliked to a forum like that. Mostly because he reminds me of Strong Sad, and that makes me laugh. ("I'm sad that I'm flyinng.") But damnit he's our Strong Sad.

So would you also criticize the members of Britsquad for doing the same based on nationality instead of religion? I would say sharing a belief would be a stronger tie than sharing a passport.

So now relegion has come to the gaming forefront.

What's next... Christian Breakfast Cereals. Start your morning off on the rite foot with Jesus-O's, Mohamed Toast, with a bit of Moses Butter...possibly a splash of Buddah's Orange Mango Juice.

                  Uhg!!!

I am sure there are hundred of pro's and con's to what will be posted from something of this nature.

Relegion is the basis for most of the wars in the history of mankind...now it's part of the gaming forum world....ROFL!

Maybe the next version of Doom should be called revelations and it will only be available from Jimmy Swagart or Jerry Falwell.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

I think there is quite a big difference between ones nationaliy vs. relegion.

But then again, Didn't the Highlanders of Scotland want to be separate from England? All I know is that when I was living in the UK, The Midlanders hated those in London and the south....as those in the Highlands alsways bitched about the midlands and southern UK...mostly due to taxes, politics and such. Very similar to how people in Northern California would like to be separate from the S. Californians, or if you live in the states we are still fighting the civil war for those that live below and above the Mason-Dixon line....identity of ones self, based solely upon relegion becomes an exclusive club as well as a segregated club. You identify as a nationality when you are from a country or state or county....yet the relegion involved between you does not discriminate one another when lookd at in this manner, unless yer from Afghanastan and are Taliban.

Are we all not Trench Wars Citizens? hehehe

Do we not bitch on a spawn kill?

Do we not use the forums to give off useless & sometimes useful commentary?

God I am bored at work...hmm is this relegious since I just mentioned god?
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

On the other side of the coin, in many gaming communities, like it's true in this one, there is a bias against those who are religious. Religion seems to receive more criticism than it should be due. Just by mentioning that one is a Christian will bring flames from several people. For that reason alone, it shouldn't be a surprise that there are online communities out there where people won't have to worry about that. There are online communities for all sorts of beliefs, associations and groups out there. I don't see how a Christian gaming site should be viewed as any different or even "pathetic".

                        Nuh uh.

First things first: I never said that they shouldn't be allowed to make their little Gibs For God websites, just that I view it with disdain. And do I? Boy do I ever.

It as far as I can tell has nothing whatsoever to do with being persecuted for having a religion. It has a whole hell of a lot to do with the behavior that unless other people are like me, then I don't want to be around them. I'm not a christian, and I come from a nice chunk of the bible belt where not being christian can get you excluded from lots of things. It can in fact make you rather unwelcome (read: in danger) in certain places and times.

I've dealt with that mentality pretty much my entire life, and I loathe it.

How welcome do you think I would be as a member of one of the christian boards, when I truthfully believe that each person has an inalienable right to decide their religion or lack thereof for themselves? How long do you think it'd be before they were the ones flaming me for my lack of suckling at Jesus' tit? And that's if all I ever did was say "No, I'm not Christian."

You tend to think that I'm flaming them for having a belief and that's simply not true. It's the exclusion, it's how pervasive this particular religion ends up being with how they exclude others.

If it was just a Persecution Free Zone, why isn't it named that, and welcome to Jews, Muslims, Downtrodden Minority Gamers, etc etc.

However, I will the be the first to admit that I'm not coming from an objective viewpoint on the subject. I loathe militant christians. I look down on "xxxx for God" clubs. I don't even care if I'm wrong in doing so. And Thank You Jesus for not striking me with lightning as I do so.

I'm cool with their unity as long as they're cool with my personal beliefs, as well. The only problem is the bible instructs its followers to recruit, and some take it to the max extreme.

However, some Christians are respectful of other people's beliefs. They give it a shot, and if you're like..."Thanks, but no thanks", then they're like, "Cool, I tried", and it's the last time it comes up. I very much respect those types of Christians, because the respect is going both ways.

Btw, Disliked has been one of the nicest ppl I've interacted with on this forum, and I would be bummed if he left. He's always helpful.

I would have to mostly agree with you about Disliked. He's a bit naive I think, and occasionally a little weird. But I don't wanna see him go. He seems like a decent enough guy, he just like most people in my opinion, needs to relax a little.

Plus, like I said, he's the forum Care Bear. "Too Much Information Bear" maybe. Hehe.

Thats not very christian of them is it?

I think the main thing many people seem to have against christians is their advertising of their religion at almost any opportunity. see here for an example of religious zeal:Christiananswers.net. Not only are the questions wordly so badly, the final one is a great laugh "What would be required to persuade you to become a believer?"
Now I know a good many christians, and they are very nice people... Christianity does have the plus side of teaching people to be nice. But its when people start crusading against gay marriage, for religion taught in public schools, against contraception and sex ed, etc. That it gets annoying. As sarien said, the militant church groups.

As a member of the christian boards, Sarien, I'd think they'd try and treat you with patience and/or try and convert you. Eventually you'd get sick of them or they'd get sick of you, ending in a flame war, which you'd get banned from (And probably the person flaming you, because christians are fair like that. Most of the time.)
