Phren got like 4000 but the rules said you need to have 1280x1024 resolution. Overburn got 18000 with that res but I'm not sure if it's real.

ok help me out, with full res, 32 bits, chat windows, radars, 16 ships in flagroom with tons of bullets flying everywhere, I have a FPS that's more or less constant around 100.
When I drop to the smallest res allowed in Continuum, make it 8 bits, take out all radars etc and go to a spot on the map where the ship is the only thing that needs to be draw, my FPS is 55??

The ideal Frame rate (for CRT at least) is 100-120Hz (100-120 frames per second) whatever your res. Less eye strain. Your monitor/graphics card may only handle 50-60 Hz in 512 res but 100 Hz in 1280 res (and by the way if it does that's a nice CRT monitor you have )
Edit : From the other post I can see you can get better results by turning off stuff like background graphics, radar and such. But where's the fun in that?
