It would effect you if you believe in all this astrological shit these days.

I believe there was a Sailor Pluto, but I know Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus are Lesbians. Why dont you ask kites.

And I knew Tone was going to post this thread when I saw this on the Channel 8 news. Tone, you get more and more predictable with every post. I didn't used to think you were a complete moron, but you are continually proving me wrong. Negative Attention Whore.

I think a planet should be defined as something that meets the following requirements, but does not orbit a larger body meeting the following requirements: 1) has been made round by its own gravity and 2) has not achieved fusion.

Under those circumstances, all the current planets remain planets because they're orbiting a larger body that does not meet those two conditions. Our moon and the Galilean moons, etc., remain classified as moons because they are orbiting a larger body that meets the two conditions above.

It's very, very faint (18th magnitude), and as the article says, its plane is titled at 45º as compared to the plane of the other planets.

Yeah, it's a crazy naming scheme used for asteroids (which I guess they initially thought it was an asteroid).

The 2003 stands for the year it was first discovered. The U means that it was discovered in the second half of the month October. The B and the 313 mean that it was the 7827th object discovered in the second half of October in the year 2003 (I think. Why not just call it 2003 U 7827?).

The 97 isn't part of the name, but it is 97 AU from the Sun.

                            Agreed

there are plenty of these pluto-like objects in the outter solar system with irregular orbits.

Two planets did collide, that's how the asteroid belt between mars and saturn was formed.
