I really dug this movie. It isn't really about pimpin and the music business as much as it is about hope for the hopeless, self discovery, and following your dreams.

I saw it, and thought it was gonna be another gay ass black people will only understand movie (like fucking Soul Plane, the Honeymooners, stupid ass black humor movies....etc etc.) But I was surprised to see that the movie was less about the rap world, and more about the ghetto. It was interesting that I found myself rooting for a pimp. Pimp's are like the lowest scum in the chain of society, yet I was rooting for him to hit it big, as well as feeling perfectly fine, and even justifying his means of earning money to make his raps (he sells his women). It was a really trippy movie, and I thought it was fantastic.

I enjoyed it. The best part was after the movie when I went home and turned on the television to MTV and heard a song almost exactly like his "hit" (with that drum beat intro thing).
