I love how you all have questions you want me to answer... I could go on for days with you all, but you all seem set in your ways and that's perfectly fine... I'm not the one to ask these questions too, because I'm asking questions myself, a question can never be answered by another question... We need answers and the only people who know those answers are our ancestors... Science may know the world of today, but it can only assume things about the world of yesterday...

If you all want to continue this discussion, we can setup a time and room on teamspeak or skype...

It's hard to describe what you really mean over the internet... I've probably misunderstood a lot of what you all are getting at and I know you all have been mislead about the things I've been saying...

I'd just like to see what you all say in 20 years from now... It's fun to experiment with life, when you feel invincible, in a way... But as you draw nearer to your time, I'm sure most of you will have a different outlook on life and the things that really matter in it... But not all of us will have that opportunity, just remember that...

For now, I'm done on this subject, most of you want me to answer these questions... Questions I don't know answers too... But we can discuss this on voice chat sometime, if you feel intrigued by this subject...

I'm very satisfied. But I don't believe you when you say that the 3 year old kid starving to death, born with HIV, that lays around in a mass of flies and maggots in a makeshift "hospital" in Africa is happy with his life.

I said what I said because it's an argument against the existence of a kind hearted and merciful god, and this is a discussion on that topic.

I'm also sure a man who gets shot in the chest with a 9mm isn't the happiest camper either... But when it's your time, it is your time... No matter how dismal your fate may seem... You know what though? That 3 year old just got a free ticket to heaven... So, I'm happy for the little guy...

Let me ask you, if you got cancer, how would you feel?

I'll tell you my outlook on it... I'd feel privilege enough to be given something such as cancer... Not many know when they will die, but they know it will happen, just not anytime soon, so they go on doing what they did before... But if you get something like cancer, atleast you have time to be saved and have something to rely on, some form of hope...

That's just my feelings on this...

But Troll King is right, we shouldn't be fighting on something we know not much on, it's ludicrous to even try... Entertainment? That's foolish to think that way... This is our lives and that's nothing to be found as "entertainment"...

Still, it sucks to know when you're going to die, because it spoils the illusion most people tend to have that they are immortal. Which is of course, completely an illusion, but I rend to think that most people are under it to some extent. (They make plans for the future-this is all based upon an assumption that they will not die tommorow)

what should be said here is that religion is pro-deathist and retards progress toward ending death. religion interferes with resolve to defeat death with biotechnology, which will some day be achived. perhaps god will then shoot a lightening bolt out of his forarms at the human's technology infastructure and say ' you have disrupted my system of a physical lifespan followed by death '

I know that hes not being hurt because hes a personal friend who I know very well and its clear from his posts that he is open to the questioning. This is a forum that is clearly labeled and easily avoidable. All people who come to this thread do so willingly, because they like to, for whatever reason. Whether you want to call that entertainment value or something else, you must admit that its by choice that they participate in the discussion. I'm not going to his house and standing outside with a bullhorn yelling my views at him. We are meeting to discuss this at a place where each of us was free to travel to and each is free to leave at any time. So if anyone's feelings are being hurt, then boofuckinghoo...dont read this stuff if you cant handle a debate. Thats why this is called "General Discussion > Religion".

Don't try to tell me what discussions I'm capable of having and not capable of having, it's insulting, and you don't even fucking know me. You are the only one who is incapable of having a reasonable discussion on this topic, because apparently you are too afraid you will rattle someone's belief structure. We are all adults here and no one was getting personal or hurtful.

I think he does indeed understand that people "can be hurt" by talking about religions. It's just that he doesn't care. In that, I agree with him. It isn't the adult, mature, thing to stop all conversation on a topic, because it might offend some people.

It's the adult, mature thing for those people that get offended to realize the world is bigger than themselves.

It's simply not possible for people to live their lives and not have their belief systems (among other things) eventually "attacked". Best these people get used to this fact earlier, rather than later. Nobody is stopping them from taking notes on who is doing the attacking, and then wanting nothing to do with the "attackers".

Incapable how though? According to Hoyle rules for discussions? The fact that it just turned to biting back and forth is why I quit posting back around page two. And that's with me only saying that religion shouldn't be used as an excuse to avoid using reason and thought. Just sit and let the dogs fight each other until they're tired, because suggesting that they stop, never works. It just spurs them onward and in new directions.

What I think TK is trying to emphasize is that none of us have enough knowledge on either of the issues to discuss this topic... He just stated that calling it a form of entertainment might offend someone, but the debate itself needed to end because no one was making any good points and we were just confusing each other even more... Which if that was the case, I fully agree...

No, what youre saying is that you are annoyed by small brained people who can't debate properly or formulate logically sound arguments, and you think we should all just shut up because "most of us"...meaning everyone but you, are incapable of having this discussion.

It doesn't stop being a discussion just because one of the sides is outnumbered. When the discussion stopped in this case is when a 3rd party, aka Troll King, entered the fray and started insulting discussion participants by saying that they were incapable of even having this discussion. That led to the current discussion, which is a 100% useless discussion pertaining to your insult and my responses....although I must say it is equally entertaining.
