All I can say is religion did not answer my questions. Sure, people gave me religious answers, but I was never satisfied with them. So I decided to answer the questions for myself which led me far, far away from religion.
I'm glad you haven't given up on your answers, and at least you found some sense of accomplishment from your search- I was just wondering what said questions were?

I think it's the height of arrogance to assume oneself is the greatest of anything, there is always someone better than you at whatever it is you think you're good at. Instead of thinking yourself to be the greatest philospher of all time, wouldn't it be better to just say that you hold your opinions and theories in high regard, but are willing to listen to others? It's one thing to think for yourself and another to block everyone out just because you disagree with them.

I think.
I disagree with him then. Just because a scientific revolution occurred, doesn't mean he's going to vanish into thin air, die , or that every single person who believed in him is going to renounce him. Even if a majority turned their backs on him, I don't think God would just fade away. But then again that's stepping into highly opiniated territory, so of course everyone is not going to see eye to eye.
Edited for spelling, but I probably missed a word or two.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

[analogy] In Halo, the covenant are religious, and they are scientific. He probably never played Halo.[/bad analogy]

I wouldn't call that a tantrum. He pointed out the fact that you can't stay on topic in any normal discussion without insinuating that everyone has some sinister ulterior motive or some role in a wacky worldwide conspiracy, and that you do in fact sound like a sociopath who hasn't seen daylight since birth.
I guess the truth hurts.

Well I guess where we know where you stand with your self-esteem hiding in your pocket. He's making the point that everyone is their own best "philosipher" as in no-one can predict or dictate what you believe exactly and it is up to you, yourself to find this out.

This is true, especially seen as many religious texts are not meant to be interpreted literally.. Many scientific findings have gone to reinforce many beliefs.
