Heh, I was going to post this when I saw it a month or so ago. Good christ, what a crazy fucker.
Want to hear more crazy fucker craziness? Look up soundbites of L. Ron Hubbard (founder of Cruise's holy Scientology). Crazy bastards follow crazy bastards.Music and medicine, I'm living in a place where they overlap.

Heh it's kind of funny how he triest to communicate and educate the guy but at the same time talks in such a condescending manner, that he alienates his audience. He seemed a tad bit too agressive, and constantly saying " I know and you don't " isn't going to get you anywhere. That's like saying "shut up and agree with whatever I have to say because I've read more on the subject than you "My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

What I find funny is that the guy who created Scientology, is the same guy who created Dianetix...

The idea isn't necessarily a crazy one. There is a lot of historical and philosophical evidence supporting the notion that many forms of psychiatric treatment is a very normalizing aspect of our society that doesn't tolerate differences very well. I do agree more with that guy arguing with Cruise (and Cruise doesn't really seem to know too much of what he's talking about - he just seems to be regurgitating information fed to him like Tone) that drugs are worthwhile on an individual basis and should not be viewed as a cure-all.
Yes there are probably too many people on psychotropic drugs in America (and the world) today. But they are probably helping a lot of those people while only hurting a minority of them.
While it's not my belief that psychiatry is bullshit it's worth reading up on because there are very good arguments going both ways (and no, none by this Scientology guy). Try some Thomas Szasz or Michel Foucault (Madness and Civilization) to understand the argument more. Jerome knows what I'm talking about.
