My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

New Orleans sort of reminds me of Venice now with all
          that water flooding.

I've been watching the news alot lately to see what is going on and its worse than I thought.

This might be a dumb question, but what exactly is a Water Levee? Is it sort of like a ditch or water pump system so you don't get flooding? So Katrina storm just wrecked this main water levee thus increase flooding into New Orleans.

I wonder if New Orleans will get rid of all this flooding, or is it permanent and not much they can do about this?

Obviously it will take years to recover, and the other question will it happen again?

            This is really sad....

            http://aolsvc.news.aol.com/news/arti...00010000000001

Rapes... cops quitting because they are tired of the lootings and risking their lives to save people and stop the looting and getting shot at... and telling people to go to Hell and it's every man for themselves...

What the hell is wrong with the human race? Violet act of nature, someone is lying half dead on the barely surviving shore, their house gone, their shop looted... and someone comes by and deceides to rape them...

I know not all of you are Christian or even believe in God, but Lord help us...

"There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?"
            .Halo.

Y'know... if you were any stupider, I swear death by laughter would be a real medical occurance.

It wasn't like this during the Tsunami, well not as much anyway, I wonder that is (except that there was no shops to loot from).

A levee is kind of like a ditch, only where a ditch is like a trench dug out of the ground, a levee is a ridge that's been raised so it's higher than the water. The idea isn't to drain or divert water like a ditch does but to act as a barrier. It's kind of like a dam, but a dam is usually built across a waterway; levees are usually built along the embankment.

I dunno, but I heard the dutch have the most elaborate and technologically advanced system of flood control in the world. Essentially, they face the same problem as NOLA, as their low elevation makes them particularly susceptible to major devastation due to poor weather.

                            Indeed.

I used to live in New Orleans 2-3 years ago, right by the levee on the Mississippi. It was about 30 feet tall. The top was paved so police cars could patrol, and the side that was facing the river had been covered in concrete so that flooding wouldn't erode it.

It's really sad to see all those images of New Orleans and to hear all those sad stories and reports. I hope all the victims get all the support they need, unfortunatelly last time i heard the help was taking some time to get to those in need and the situation was not being taken to seriously by the authorities has it took a bit to much time to evac everyone and there were not enough means at the disposal of the rescue teams... they even forgot to evac the persons in need of medical care...

I hope the situation gets better in the places affected by that catastrophe and that everyone recovers from all that situation and that the authorities finnally decide to give those persons the proper attention and the help they need.

i find it strange that when the Idonesian Tsunami happened, rescue forces and troops were there almost right away, why not the rapid deployment right on their own doorstep

plus i love the fact that as soon as Bush turns up in the city things get under way............... 4 days later, unnaceptable
