Well I do usually knock the US but that is some terrible shit you have going on there at the moment so hope you can sort it all out.

Fuck knows what's happening with the rescue effort though. New Orleans should be crawling with boats and buses by now and not just getting a few dozen trucks five days later. There seem to be some very strange decisions going on there right now.

Yeah, I have seen the outrage you have over there and it's good to see.

There are many more fun things to do than bashing Bush and his friends or bashing the USA. This is not a cool euro thing because we have our own problems but the USA seriously needs to sort out what it's priorities are.

I'm just thinking that the netherlands don't have tropical storms or hurricanes or earthquakes or any unstable conditions like that.

I don't think the dutch levees would have held against Katarina no matter how well suited they are for the dutch climate.

Not hurricanes, but the hurricane isn't the cause of all the devastation in New Orleans. The cause of NOLA's problems are the levee ruptures and subsequent flooding. Floods are something the dutch have been subjected to as a national climatic threat because like New Orleans, much of the area is at or below sea level.

And you're saying that the levees breaking has nothing to do with the hurricane?

              ok.

It was a little of both.

Hurricane raised water levels, increasing pressure, increasin the chance of breaking.
