im actually pretty surprised how many of you would forgive a girlfriend for cheating (im imagining youre talking about full-blown intercourse here, not light petting).

I was assuming it was like one thing lead to another...not really thinking about full-blown intercourse but I suppose that could still be forgiven. But how far it went makes a big difference. Oops, I accidentally went to France and Italy for a week with Charles the accountant is obviously less of a mistake and more of a screw you.

I'm partially inclined to agree, but there is always hope of redemption. Remember that, just because they cheat on you, doesn't mean that they don't feel bad about it.

Not necessarily. I know of a girl who cheated on her boyfriend by bringing back some dude to their one-bedroom apartment and fucking him in the bathroom while her boyfriend was sleeping in the next room. After he woke up and saw/heard what was happening, he immediately started packing his stuff to move out. Does the girl stop and apologize? No, she sits on the couch and continues to make out with the guy. After he moves out, she still refuses to believe it had anything to do with her.

Some people are just bad people. They might be the minority, but yes, there are some really bad people out there.

If your partner of a long time (say 1 year+) cheats on you, and tells you asking forgiveness, do you forgive them?
If they don't tell you, you find out some other way, then confront them and they ask forgiveness, do you forgive them?
If they cheat on you more than once, do you forgive them?

Oh! That depends on a lot of stuff...
First of all it depends on what type of relationship you have with your partner and in what you have agreed upon when you decided to get closer... say if you have a very liberal relationship were you could be allowed by both parts to have someone else in your life, then that shouldn't constitute a problem... "at least theoretically although its always hard".
If you both have made your vows of eternal love and companionship and all of the "usual" stuff then i probably wouldn't allow although it always depends upon his reasons and the way he did it. If he cheated more then once it means that the relationship is not working so i would probably take some measures and make him PAY for making me look like grrrrrrrrr and for being unapreciative and for trading me for some grrrrrrr and for not having balls to tell me the truth about it if it happened more then once... basically i think i would do something that would make him think twice about cheating someone again...

I'm not a violent feller but packing is probably not the first thing I would do.

That's probably the biggest beef I have with it (outside of her cheating), is that the guy is one of the nicest people I've ever met, and had already given her several "second chances." She's just a horrible human being.

On a happy note, she lost herself most of her college friends through this little episode.

yeah, i guess i dont know the instances for all my friends, but most of my friends who have cheated on their girlfriends or boyfriends have cheated multiple times. ive never heard of someone cheating only once.
