Atleast we can all agree on one thing, Sephiroth is God.
No... he is not. Kefka could bitch smack Sephiroth like he was nothing, why? Because he was as powerful as a god. Sephiroth is the most overrated villian in Final Fantasy, or even all of gaming.
"There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?" .Halo.
Y'know... if you were any stupider, I swear death by laughter would be a real medical occurance.

but Jenova was always controling him (the Sephiroth clone- not the original who fought with Zack) wasnt he?
fuck, i dont know how i still rememeber all of this stuff. kind of makes me wanna play it through again. if i didnt know the game so well already i just might
Vegnagun and Shuyin were both so easy. I just went Rikku/Paine as Dark Knights, Yuna as White Mage and just did Darkness/Dark Storm(whatever it's called) over and over and healed them both...
my yuna was an alchemist...but yeah.

I didn't really play 7, so i don't know seph, but Kefka killed the number 2 in the empire, which was the greatest military force on the planet and escaped it with absolutly no problem.
Then he killed the leader of the empire, the king of a good chunk of the world and still, nothing.
Then he got god like powers, and destroyed towns because he just didn't like them. He shot osme other stuff, used his powers to assemble a huge tower just for him.
Thats pretty badass.

9 has the best characters, with great personalities.
Who cares about the limitbreak?
You get tired after seeing Lionheart/Renzokuken after 5 times FF8/FF7 anyways.
Zidane was queer? Maybe, but he isnt the typical hero so it's more fun to play him, and all the other characters are funny too. Like when they talk about Quina and refer to it as he/she all the time, since they don't know the gender. Or when Eiko tries to hit on Zidane all the time
FF9 is the only FF game that made me laugh a lot.
I actually fell asleep several times when i played through FFX, ending the game with crazy playing hours. Was boring from the start to the end.
Well this game is special to me wheter zidane is a faggot or not. It helped me get through my parents divorcal. My friends were assholes so they never helped me so this game helped me out big time. Actually when you think about it Zidane is the least gayish main character. Has Tidus, Cloud, Squall, or Cecil ever gone after the main girl character as Zidane did. He grabbed daggers ass made comments about sex and everything. Screw limit breaks. I liked trance way better, you got to transform and have special abilities. It had the best chocobo minigame, and everybody knows vgivi is one of the most memorable cahracters ever. Damn Im rambling on like crazy im going to stop now.
They're just upset because Zidane didn't need to hold onto a really big sword. I mean, you don't have to be that much of a Freudian to ask "what's up with that?".
Or perhaps they don't like him because he actually had a personality.
i mean, the game is horribly flawed, but it's still good. im planning on getting Tactics Ogre: Knights of Lodis on my SP and emulating Tactics Ogre on SNES, should be a good time.
FF7/FF8/FF9/FFX all have strong/weak points, and they're all (obviously) unique experiences, so it's really hard to compare them. It's safe to say theyre all worth playing, as are the earlier FF games.
FFX2 was pretty gay, I didn't bother playing more than 3 hours of it, although I'm sure if any of us put enough time into it we'd enjoy it.
I wish they'd stop making gay protagonists....rat boy in 9, blondie in 10, vaan in 12, chicks in x2... yawn

Like Spidermage said, Sephiroth had nothing on Kefka. FFT had an amazing story and battle system, just a weak translation in some parts and a few uber powerful characters. FF5 was nothing but one fetch-quest ontop of another, and the nice battle system is the only thing keeping it above X-2. I don't know why so many people like Cloud over Zidane, Cloud was nothing but a silent loner faggot pre- disc 3, and just an emo faggot post disc 3. You want to talk about badass characters, talk about Cyan, Beowulf, Yang, even Cain. FF9 was a big departure from 7 and 8 because the characters in 9 (IMO) had alot more character than the previous 2 games. At best 7 had Yuffie and 8 had Zell. Everyone else was pretty paper-thin character development wise. Matter of fact, fuck Zell, he just liked hot dogs.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.
How come no one ever talks about FF I, II and the Japanese version of III that's being released?
Also, not sure how many of you know this or even played them, but the FF games for Game Boy( Legends and Adventure, as well as their sequals ) were all actually prequals to the SaGa series. At least, I read about it a few years ago, so I think I am remembering right.
"There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?" .Halo.
Y'know... if you were any stupider, I swear death by laughter would be a real medical occurance.
The FFL games were SaGa games. They weren't prequels per se, as they were always titled as SaGa games in Japan. Officially, they were the first SaGa games. It seems that Squaresoft likes to give the SaGa games different titles every time they switch consoles. For Gameboy they were just SaGa, for the SNES they were Romancing SaGa, for PS1 they were called SaGa Frontier and the overly confusing and almost intentionally boring PS2 release was Unlimited SaGa. If they do carry through with a new one for the next generation consoles (after recovering from Unlimited) it will likely have a new title too.
FF Adventure was actually the first of the Mana series. In Japan it was titled "Seiken Densetsu" and Secret of Mana was called "Seiken Densetsu 2". Each following North American Seiken Densetsu has been given different but similarly themed titles.
Calling them prequels is misleading as they did come out first; it's more accurate to think of the latter games as sequels.

That's because they aren't that great. Sure, FF1 deserves respect for being one of the first RPGs of it's kind and starting the whole franchise, but it really has not stood up against the test of time. Have you tried to play the ORIGINAL Nintendo version? It is slow and boring, and not much fun. I've owned this one since it came out, and I've never finished it. Mostly because my saved game progress would have about a 25% chance of actually being saved when I turned the NES off.
FF2J has the problem of using a horribly flawed version of the Romancing SaGa experience system, which sucks. This is probably the worst game of the series.
FF3J is actually awesome. It is actually the first game of the series to use the job system (of FF Tactics fame) and also is the first to let you use summons like Bahamut, Ifrit etc. If you play any of the NES Final Fantasy games, this is the one to play.
People are so adapt to the style of RPGs like early Final Fantasy games and such that games like SaGa Frontier and Unlimited SaGa don't fit their liking. Both of which , i thought were great games, especially SaGa Frontier. It was about a young son overthrowing his father's kingdom and ruling a nation, with many side quests and such. Many RPG gamers are too old fashion, and dont care to embrace new changes in RPG games, like in the SaGa series, FF10-2, FFXI and others.
