First, it's "executioner." Not "executor." We're talking about death here, not wills.

Never the less, you cannot have sympathy for the devil. If he/she killed someone, and rightfully knew what they were doing, then they deserve to be killed.
So many problems with this statement. First, it's a terrible argument against the death penalty anyway, but of course there is someone who turns the machine on and actually directly kills the person. But there are many other people who indirectly do it like jury, judges, etc. so that argument is pretty stupid anyway.

Second, it's not as cut and dry as you make it seem. In most cases there isn't a video camera and it's mainly up to testimony which gives the wrong conclusion many times. Given the finality of death I don't think it's a good way to administer punishment.

Third, you say people who kill "deserve" to be killed. My problem with that statement is the inherent hypocrisy. If you punish people for wrongfully determining the life or death of another human being, then why should, under the guise of "the law" and "justice," other people be able and have some sort of right to determine just punishment? More to the point, if it's unjust for a citizen to dictate the life or death of another human being then why should it be just for a separate citizen to justly dictate that same decision solely on the basis of justice and alleged prior actions?

Again, nobody here is going to change anyone else's mind so we should all simply recognize that there is a good argument to be made for both sides of the death penalty and move along.

I'm appalled, to say the least.

What kind of self-respecting person would dance around like that, and a Vietnam veteran for that matter.

My greatest concern right now would be for those who survived the officer's death. The mother with the two young children must be living a harsh life.

It seems like he could've responded differently and possibly have saved his life, but it must be tough deciding whether or not to shoot somewhere, and if so, deciding where to shoot him. I wish he would've fired at the tires of the truck or something, but the officer might have been charged with some random crime or count of abuse or something. I'm not all too clear with police restrictions.

One things for sure, police officers are underappreciated, even if they do give out speeding tickets.

He probably suffered from PTSD if he's a nam vet and probably drunk at the same time to or on some drug, to minimize the psychological pain he was going through. Not an excuse but it's pitiable nonetheless
