  • Shows that have not panned out on TV

    Supernatural
    Everybody Hates Chris
    Bones

All three of these did not live up to expectations IMHO.

Supernatural is living off the fans of Buffy and Angel...riding them coat tails...just that I can't see this lasting more than one season.

Everybody hates Chris...funniest parts where the coming attractions and commercials...I guess it could be good for kids under 13.

Bones...What has happened to Angel? Bones is the cheap version of Crossing Jordan. Would rather have a 2 hr show of House than Bones. At least House has some good sarcasm.

Only show I've heard of from your entire post is House, but I've never seen it (although in the commercials for it, something super dramatic is always happening).

House is ok....the lead actor is a sarcastic edgy type guy. Grows on ya. Somewhat ok storylines.

Crossing Jordan has been on for 3+ yrs I think? Ok show...based on solving murders using forensic evidence with Jordan being a main charachetr and female as well. Crossing Jordan has a larger budget from its looks as well. Bones is the show that just premiered...seemed to live off of the same storyline as Jordan, just that David B..? "Angel" fame is the lead role with a woman playing a lead role and her nickname is Bones.

Everybody Hates Chris, is also a new show. The show is primarily based upon Chris Rocks youth at the age of 13. I like Chris Rock, so I was unsure of how I looked at this show. It was written for a young crowd. Pee Wee's Playhouse...well that had many overtones/crossovers on the age brackets. So I had no clue as to what to expect from Chris Rock's show.

I totally agree with you. House, and Crossing jordan are both cool shows. The 3 shows mentioned will be dropped most likely after the first season or so.

I def agree about Supernatural being a bit stinky.

I loved the first season of House, but after watching the first episode of this 2nd season, I have a feeling that it's gonna get old unless they throw in something with the relationships btwn the main characters. Houses' sarcasm can only make the show go so far.

I watched the first episode of The Office ... and recently watched the first season. I actually liked it ... even though I know there are ppl who think it's not as good as the UK version (haven't seen it). I even like how some parts aren't funny (lots of times there are weird pauses of silence) ... makes the show and it's characters endearing. Every character seems to be likeable in their own quirky way.

Prison Break is doing ok I think. At least watchable and enjoyable to a certain point. I think the main character portrays his character very well tho ... a bit overboard on "the face" and overconfidence part.

Las Vegas and CSI: Miami were ok, as well as Numb3rs.

Heh, I'm doing a lotta TV watching atm =).

I always thought Crossing Jordan was some sort of discovery programme, where this explorer is travelling around the Middle East.

Everyone loves House, but I just can't get into it. I watched about 20 min of 2 different episodes, and I just couldn't bear the horrible dialogue. Everything was so over-the-top, and the drama seemed so manufactured that I just couldn't bear to stick with it. Plus, I think Fox tends to show more commercials than any other network, and that's my Super-Mega-Dealbreaker. Modern marketing is the most evil thing about television, I think. Their whole goal is to make people stupid, worthless, and empty so they will buy their products.

I loved the first episode of Nip/Tuck, and I'm kind of liking Rome on HBO--but the script is definitely not on the level of Deadwood or The Wire. What I like about it most is the strategy-stuff. Kind of how Oz used to be. Everyone was trying to kill each other, but not being able to do it directly. They had to somehow trick another inmate into killing the guy for him, without really knowing what he was doing. It was some Machevellian shit.

I hate to say it, but I actually am a sucker for both of The Apprentices. I get totally annoyed by the phony drama, but it's cool to see the strategy, and I like that you get a taste of the corporate business world without actually having to sell your soul and do it.

You sold your soul, alright, you just don't know it yet.
People who are rather more than six feet tall and nearly as broad across the shoulders often have uneventful journeys. People jump out at them from behind rocks then say things like, "Oh. Sorry. I thought you were someone else."

House is crap. A grossly exaggerated main character, everything centers around him being the razor-sharp know-it-all everytime. But for that reason it can be a laugh.

However I watch it sometimes because the main guy is an old English comedian who I'd never ever have dreamt would be playing a role like that ;P

Just finished watching Prison Break ... episode 6. It's great how things are getting all messy and not going according to plan for the main character. I think it's been the most interesting episode yet.
