Has anyone else noticed that the Leafs are criticized for having an old goalie in Belfour with a history of health issues, while the Sens get a pass though they have a goalie in Hasek that is actually three months older and, because of health issues, played only 14 games last season compared to Belfour's 59?

Incidentally, over the last 5 years, the Leafs have played in 10 playoff round, averaging 2 rounds per year. The Sens have gone 8 rounds, losing in the first round 3 out of the last 5 years. The only year the Sens went farther than the Leafs did was the one year they didn't play each other. Your argument makes sense if you count just the 2002-2003 season. Compared to other teams' recent playoff runs, only the New Jersey Devils and the Colorado Avalanche have played in more playoff rounds than the Leafs who are tied with Detroit and Philadelphia. That puts the Leafs in the top 5 out of 30 teams in playoff runs in this millenium.

SO to summarize, in 40 years the leafs have made it to the cup finals how many times? ZERO. In 40 years they've gotten to the 3rd round, the senators did that 15 years starting from the bottom. The leafs are going down, their roster is ass and the only thing they have going for them is their aging goalie.. the Senators aren't aiming for just the playoffs, they're aiming for the cup. You guys have had plenty of time and plenty of money to get to where you SHOULD be, the sens have had a salary cap of sorts from the start.. we've been a struggling team and even being where we are now is an amazing achievement.
I've been a sens fan since we were struggling to make playoffs, for them to finally be a stanley cup contender is something I'm definitely proud and excited for.
