i need suggestions for a good pair of headphones.

i like to watch movies and anime and play CoD and FPS games. i just want a good quality pair under $30. i have one in mind - Sennheiser HD 201 Headphones

opinions? suggestions?

The SR 80 headphones are a good choice, should be about $100. The premium RS-1 headphones cost about $700.

Well, this plantronics headset ... i've had it for a few months now. I paid $20 for it, and I can hear things perfectly ... I call it cheap and good.

For music pick up Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Micro ($25). It is a USB soundcard that offers significantly quality than integrated sound and works well with Sennheiser HD201. It is not as good as the Sound Blaster line for gaming since it lacks EAX though.

Are Sony headphones any good?
I got these sony mdr-xd200 headphones for about $35 and pretty happy with them. A little clunkly, but I use it only in my residence so I have no problem with it. It has this switch on the ears where you can turn it from music mode, to movie mode. I cant notice an extreme difference, but I know something changes.

The basic 12 dollar wrap around headphones that Sony makes are really nice for their price point.

Otherwise if you are going for overall quality BOSE has the best without a doubt, and thats what I use.

Bose is arguably pure crap as well.

In the music industry bose is one of the largest jokes of a company around - they've got a good reputation for no good reason, and there are a thousand other companies that offer better products at far lower prices.

Their marketing, however, is excellent. They know how to sell product, build reputation, and rake in the dough. They're not, however, all that great at producing low cost, high quality stuff.

Seriously though, I can't even fathom how one could say that. I've never had a problem with anything from BOSE, and I certainly wouldn't say they are over priced.

Sony is quality. I don't know of anything under 30 bucks though my sony headphones were like 300 dollars. Excellent sound quality.

Like I said, Sony wraparounds provide nice sound quality with an easy pricepoint.

That and they are comfortable.
