I got it downloaded ... it just took 4 hours or so...

Anyways, quite a fun game, even though I have no idea which skills are the best ones. I went with spear and cold enchanting it. Works great so far.

the guy character i made with the kakashi style hair i leveled up to 5 but i didn't do the first quest. then i made a female character with a bow and arrow. she's around 7 or 8 now. haven't played in like 2 weeks though.

The key is to look beyond what you can level up at the current level. No matter how tempting it may be, you probably shouldn't level up some SWORD SKILL just because it just became enabled for you at that level. If you look beyond that skill, you can see other skills you can get later. The key is to know exactly what kind of skill you want to specialize.

could you tell me what i am doing wrong? whenever i get around 5 skill points i don't really know where to go next. i have the first 2 sword techs at their original strength and fire and heal also. right now i'm in the process of improving the fire/force skills.

all i've been killing are the weasels, weasel champions. i tried to kill a stone ghost as part of a quest but then i died (back at level 6).

My favorite MMORPG of all time is Asheron's Call. It battled the original Everquest back in 1998-2002 or so. Some of the positives and what made the game unique:

1. A very diverse market for items because most items in the game that mobs dropped were created with random bonuses so you could get some really amazing items without killing any bosses or doing quests. There were also tonnes of materials you needed to make certain unique items so there was a huge market for these and also any high level mob could drop keys that could be used to open special chests that had a decent chance for amazing items.

2. The max level was 120. After 2 years, only a dozen or so players acheived this level out of 10,000 or so players. It took me 6 months to get two players to level 50 and expirience needed to level grew exponentially. Basically this meant that you couldn't just come in and max out a character.

3. There was a monthly update which included new dungeons, items, quests and most importantly changes to the world's storyline. Players could actually alter world events and therefore different servers ended up having different plot paths because of the actions of their players.

4. A vassel system where lower level players could swear alligience to a higher level player and resulted in "monarchies" of 1000-2000 players that had 10-20 tiers within the monarchy. The benefit of this was that you gained a small % of expirience every time a player underneath you gained a level (with no expirience loss to the lower level player) and the vassel would usually receive hand me down items from the person they swore alligience to.

I know most people don't care, but I still consider this the best MMORPG ever. Asherons Call 2 was a hugely different game and wasn't successful, which was a shame.

i found the message that tell you about disconnection from the server quite annoying. it wouldn't let you try anymore after that, and the game had to be restarted. just keep trying at it, i got in after around 4 or 5 game restarts. <_<

Rab, since you're like lvl 13, you could start over again with a more focused build, and you'll definitely be levelling faster.
