lol nice to see such a contentious issue that has split christianity into many sects (amonst other things) has been solved on these forums <_<

anyways i don't read all the forums or threads, usualy only the smaller ones that tweak my interest, and i only skim read those.

    Thats probably like most ppl.

There is no point in quoting faith, you can't argue against it but that doesn't mean it's true.
    Never argue with an idiot.
They will drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

Who said it was solved? Do you honestly believe that the current bible has remained unchanged since it was handed out to the masses? The quote I used basically said that there are always going to be believers and nay-sayers when it comes to faith. I don't see why you pulled the "argue with an idiot" quote, I'm not trying to get into a faith debate.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Lots of christians would debate that and you've got ppl like Jehovah's Witnesses who believe that number to be true... Also there are those who believe that there Bible is the exact truth ...

I've talked to some who said the men who translated it etc... where directed by the hand of god and therefore it still is his holy words, yet you dismiss that saying that on these forums we decided there was no way to tell if its true or not. thats the soloution i ment, you say that to them and they will tell, It is true and not accept your stance on it.

The fact is there is little way to determine if any of the bible is true and then why should you believe literaly parts of it but not others when it has been changed so much and things added in 100 of years after events? There have been books changed to fit in with the ressurection and transcendation that weren't actualy mentioned by the apostles or disciples or what ever you call them. So why should you believe that ? It is less sturdy than an actualy number given that you discredit...

I think there is a parralel between the faith quote and argue with an idiot one actualy.

You mighten be trying to get into a faith debate but you still use it, so your not trying very hard :P. And your quote was biased in its language using light and dark to make ppl with faith seem great and superior too those without who are lost in the darkness. Considering we were talking about christianity, that is quite insulting.

As i said there is no arguing with faith, i've tried in the past pointing out that different faiths that ppl found wrong have had "faith" like that cult that killed themselves when the comet went past. Why should your faith be right and not theirs ? Why would faith in Jesus save you but Faith in one of them many Hindu gods wouldn't? Usually faith is the answer, you've so much faith in jesus that he must be the right choice, there is no doubt left in your heart becuase you accepted him in and life is now great.

Ultimatly Faith is put into religion to ease the fact that religion rases a lot of unanswerable questions that make it hard to believe, heaven is in as a reward and a reason to believe. These all are human constructs and yet if you have Faith you believe they are devine.

In faith there is no logic, it is like arguing with an idiot, you cannot win.

P.S. lol i was going to just type in I WIN if you replied, but then i wasn't sure if you were being funny or serious so i gave a little more effort in

Yes and how many here believe that it's statyed exactly the same throughout the years? I'm not talking about people in general, I'm talking about the people here at the forums. Religion and faith have been argued to death here, and while every now and then you get the clash of "what's in the bible wasn't true, yes it was you're a faggot sinner ", it's not argued against too much here. I'm not dimissing the general populace and their beliefs, because they don't post here and I wasn't talking about them. I used the word forums, not earth or planet.

The fact is there is little way to determine if any of the bible is true and then why should you believe literaly parts of it but not others when it has been changed so much and things added in 100 of years after events? What? You were railing on religion by saying heaven is just a "carrot on a stick" and then described how in the bible they say this and that, and it is too wacky to be true. I simply said that everything in the bible doesn't have to be 100% true, and there is no point in worrying about specific number, or denying the integrity of a religion because of that number.

I think there is a parralel between the faith quote and argue with an idiot one actualy.

What?! Where the hell did you get that from? Insecurity alert, insecurity alert. Stop hopping around thinking I was implying you are lost in darkness or some other crazy shit. Let's look at the quote again.

"In faith there is enough light for those who want to believe and enough shadows to blind those who don't. "

Do you know what I get from that quote when I read it? That there is enough hope, enough to believe in for the faithful, and enough doubt (shadows) for those that don't. Sorry if I warmed the back of your neck and made you think I was pulling some "Sinners are lost forever" stuff, I wasn't even going for anything of the sort.

Who is arguing? We're agreeing that there is no point in arguing about faith, what's with this arguing mess?

Ultimatly Faith is put into religion to ease the fact that religion rases a lot of unanswerable questions that make it hard to believe, heaven is in as a reward and a reason to believe. These all are human constructs and yet if you have Faith you believe they are devine.

In your opinion there is no logic, which I don't mind at all. It's just that by using the idiot quote, you're implying that those with faith are as ignorant and stubborn as idiots, which simply isn't true. Just because 1 or two are ignorant and act like idiots in religion debates, it doesn't mean all religious people will.

P.S. lol i was going to just type in I WIN if you replied, but then i wasn't sure if you were being funny or serious so i gave a little more effort in

talking of light and shadows and blindness is basicaly saying that faith is the true path and those who don't believe it are oblivious to it. If your going to use the term doubt that is even worse as doubt should be encuoraged so people can think for themselves, not demeaned so that doubting is bad and you should believe blindly what your told.

If you ment it ina wishy washy way off , ppl will believe what they want to believe, that is also not true. Often (specialy in terms of religion) people believe what they are taught to believe and good reason for this is they are told that faith is good and doubt is bad ...

I've no idea why your calling me insecure?

if you still see no link betwwen the qoutes, you can't argue against blind faith and you can't argue against an idiot.

If that's how you want to see it, ok, but I don't see the quote that way. Doubt was never discouraged in that quote, you're trying to read way to far into something that is really quite simple.

And they can either learn other ways of thinking and digest them, or stick by what was taught to them when they grew up. That still sounds like people are going to believe what they want to believe to me.

I've no idea why your calling me insecure?
Because you thought I was saying people that had faith are superior to others and for some reason really want to win an argument against me?

All faith isn't blind though, and that is what I was trying to tell you in my last post.
