I wanted a certain camera, but that's obviously not going to happen because of my fucking laptop. All Christmas money is going to go directly to that to get it fixed, but since it's so expensive it's probably just going to be me paying it out of my waitressing money and the parents throwing in $50. Yeah, it sucks

I dont ask for things for christmas. Never really have, never really will. I sometimes think it'd be fun to have some things, but I've never gotten into the habit of asking.
My roomate from last year writes a list and gives it to his parents, who get him everything on the list, or at least the more important ones.
Not to say I dont get asked what I want. 2 Christmasses ago I wanted a certain video game, and my parents asked me what one it was so that they could get it for christmas, and I told them.
But most of the time it's just me getting random things. Except for last christmas. They asked what I wanted, I said I didn't have any preferences. Then they asked if I was going to buy anything for my appartment soon, so I said I was planning to buy a new computer chair or a VCR, but not both. SO for my birthday they got me a computer chair (birthday's like 21 days before xmas) and for xmas I got a VCR. I was quite surprised on the whole computer chair/VCR thing though, usually they just get me something random that I like somewhat, but I really needed a new chair and a VCR helps with the whole connecting my shitty tv to xbox/cable.
