A woman drowns her children in a bathtub & gets convicted after pleading guilty and now they want a re-trial to keep her in a State Mental Institution at $$$ taxpayers expense, rather than keeping her in a State pen. Why waste the money to keep her alive?

Odd how a mountain biker can be attacked by a mountain lion in CA, when it was the bikers fault for being in the animals natural habitat at an early evening time...of which these cats feed. Immediately, the population living in this area take to arms to kill the Cat, as it must have been crazy and out of it's mind to kill this biker!

An adult is stupid enough to go past the gates at a zoo where the lions are and enter the cage area. He gets mauled. Time to kill the Lion! it must have been crazy to attack this guy!!!

But for the poor woman who killed her...what was it 3 or 5 kids one at a time in a bathtub....let's make sure she is comfortable and not in a State pen, but a medicated enviroment on well kept grounds.

Where is the true Justice? A baby seal gets clubbed by a father of 3. It's documented that the Mother seal when witnessing this attack on its child gives off an un-godly scream! Can I be the one that goes to this guy's house who clubs seals heads in, tie him to a chair and have him watch as someone clubs his childrens heads in? F'n humanity and its morality is so f'n warped.

Just thought I would vent. I prefer the animals rites to this world over ours at times.
May your shit come to life and kiss you on the face.

More prisoners should get the death penalty. Screw life sentences.

A life sentance is, essentially, a death penalty, except it allows for the chance that the person was convicted wrongly and retrials and stuff.

At times humans can be selfish, arrogant, hurtful and mean-spirited people. The best way to cope with the stuff you told us about is to try and focus more on the good aspects of our time here, on the good things that people around the world have done for eachother and for the common good. Otherwise the hate and the pain would drown us all.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I do not see it as a question of hate and pain. I just see it as a moral hypocracy.

There are so many great and wonderful things & not to zero in on the bad, I just think that this a reflection of what happens when you do not look or focus on such problems as this is the same as turning ones head to avoid seeing the problems we face in daily life & society.

Perhaps the looking at things as was done in Paris are similar. From what I have read on this, the writing has been on the walls. If they turn their heads and they do not mention or discuss it, perhaps it will go away.

As a whole, you cannot just turn a blind eye, eventually it will come around and bite you in the ass. karhma perhaps or the eventual ruin of habitats and complete species all for the justice of what one calls humanity.

Not to be deep on the subject, as I was actually somewhat amused at the fact that we waste so much monies and time on an obvious murderer who regadless of the fact she is mentally out there somwhere or had seriously planned the entire death of her kids. She should have been put away somwhere without a re-trial , but due to her civil (lol...civil) rites. As far as I see it...she confessed and we know she is a whack job. Are not most people in prison for such murders f'ed up to begin with? My point originally was that we can just kill a living animal for doing what is natural to it, as we are the one who displaced these animals habitats. Yet we cannot serve justice in a way that would seem fit to ourselves.

I guess you could compare a similarity in the laws of assisted suicide on those that are on life support w/living wills. But we can put down our pets without much remorse when we see that they are suffering. Big difference I know.

But now that I think of it....the US Supreme Court will probably stop things such as living wills if it becomes as Conservative as it may. What a can of worms.

              i don't know
The real problem is probably in the system. If the mother is getting that stressed out and crazy she should be able to turn somewhere easily before she kills her kids. Easier said than done though, and things like this will allways happen as ppl get streessed out and act completely irrationaly.

I don't know how she could live with herself after doing something that horrific, so probably an mental institution pumped full of drugs would be better than in a prison.

The thing about the wild cat is it could develop a pattern for attacking humans if it knows it can take one out and nothing would happen. That is about the only reason i could see to kill it.

but yes in law and society there is much hypocracy

Lemme put it this way. At another board I wa trying to liven things up and keep people informed at the same time, so I did sort of a weekly news thing. I'd post at the beginning and end of the week I think, sharing the big stories, international, technological, yadda yadda, ironically enough from Yahoo. Some people got interested and also helped out by posting for specific fields, aka one for technology, one for movies, etc. I mainly did the world news. After about 3 or 4 weeks of doing this, I got kind of an eye opener to how much bad stuff is focused on in the news. Like everyone knows that they focus on death and crime and the like, but actually I don't know, reporting it to other people, looking up constant stories about it just opened my eyes to the volume of bad stuff in the world. Not as much as if I had actually seen it with my own eyes of course, but enough even still. The others slacked off eventually because they were lazy/ whatever other reasons and I eventually stopped the news thing. Why? 96% of the international news I was posting involved death, rapes, murders or war. Violence and drugs. It's not froma lack of trying to find good stuff (there was some), but the amount of bad news just got depressing to look at in that topic.

What I'm trying to get at is, that focusing on the bad stuff when you can't do anything about it is not going to make you morally correct, or a more humane being. Having a good knowledge of what's going on in the world is important, but there's no need to beat yourself up about it if you don't know about every child sold into slavery by their parents so those folks can eat for one more week, about the mass murders of families for power or rapings of little girls that happen everyday, every hour. This planet doesn't suck, our way of life, and how people go about and what they do to get more power/food/ survive just a little bit longer is what sucks.

The situation in Paris isn't just from a lack of acknowledging the problem, it's from the problem being in the seat of power in France. Banning head scarves, not enforcing enough of a backlash against hate crimes, and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff (I'm not that informed on the France situation) - It's not just from the populace ignoring what's going on. It's from the government allowing these things and supporting these things, goading them to continue.

It's very rare that sealers club baby seals to death man. It's been perpetuated a lot by animal rights movements. Same ones who cause the accidental deaths of millions of hares and rodents through wheat farming.
