I've been watching this now since the first season came out on DVD and now weekly with the 2nd season. I'm ... freaking out over here, anyone else on this crack like I am and have anything to discuss about it?
I think this is all like an "Island of Dr. Moreau" where the "others" are weird science experiements gone wrong (The sickness), and The button is just a psychological experiment with no ties to the "end of the world".
And right now my favourite "crazy ass theory" is that Walt is imbued into Vincent mystically. Vincent is always thirsty (Last episode, Shannon said aloud that the dog is always thirsty, to herself) and drinks water. When Walt shows up, he's drenched in water. Whenever Walt now shows up, the dog is gone, and when Walt leaves, the dog returns. As shown in the 3 times Walt appeared. The dog was outside the tent and went in as walt. And the other two times, the dog ran off to the forest and tada, here he comes.
I don't believe in the above due to the fact that this is all supposedly 'scientifically tied together' so that can't be true, but I found it to be an interesting observation.
