Because i dont use my mac as a gaming-computer its far better than a PC on all accounts and it looks fucking good. I laugh when my classmates come dragging with their ten kilo dell-monsters and five kilometers of wiring while my slim and sexy 12" PB fits in my pocket
And you can run continuum on a mac, with the new Viritual PC for Mac almost all software for PC can be used on a Mac:wub: GammaHydroxyButyrate

OMG geekbot post out of the blue, so unexpected:
I bought it because I was sick of Windows not working, I wanted to play with new hardware/software/unix tools, and because they are pretty and have a lot of cool little features/nice things.
I love it now because I do absolutely zero virus scans, ad scans, spyware scans. When the computer is slowing down I'm almost certain it's a program that I can restart (not the entire computer). Networking is so amazingly simple. Hibernate in a couple seconds by closing the lid. ssh connections stay up even when hibernated. Drag-and-drop application installs that take less than a second and no reboots. Not having to fight with my computer to get work done. And lots of "little surprises" I continue to find out about my computer all the time.

You can use a Mac as a gaming computer, I do. In fact most games after having been ported to OS X look better, and run better than their PC counterparts. Most every application running on a Mac is color correction aware, and using OpenGL lets things run faster with less hardware.
I play Continuum via VPC, it isn't the fastest in the world, but with the transition to using intel processors I can easily imagine some interesting translation software coming. I was against the thought of moving to intel processors at first, and I dread the thought of leaving the PPC behind, but as long as OS X can keep the same level of quality it has now, then I guess it really don't matter what the processor is."Sexy" Steve Mijalis-Gilster, IVX

Honestly, I think the issue of PC's being more buggy and vulnerable is sort of like the "guns kill people" argument: it's really up to the user, and sadly, 90% of PC users are ignorant. But I don't use any anti-virus, spyware, or even a firewall, and the only reason my uptime isn't measured in weeks or months is because it's a laptop (unless Hibernation doesn't count as shutting your computer off, because I honestly haven't shut my laptop completely down in months, just Hibernate when I go places)

It's funny that people are all down on Macs. I got Virtual PC for XMAS and now I can play Continuum again.
But I don't.
But really, there is nothing on a Mac that you can't do, minus gaming. If you want a gaming PC, go for a Windows, otherwise I can't use anything but Mac OS X.Originally posted by Jeenyusssometimes i thrust my hips so my flaccid dick slaps my stomach, then my taint, then my stomach, then my taint. i like the sound.

A lot of people in my class have Macs and they seem to think it's some sort of badge of honour, so I like it when I bring my Inspiron to class, and everyone's goes 'OMG ITS NOT A MAC'.
Personally I am just used to using a PC (I find the Mac OS intuitively weird even if I have used them frequently since I was in grade 5), but I would also argue that PCs have much more software, are much easier to find warez for, and are much easier to upgrade because you don't have to worry about compatibility issues (either from the components or just the weirdness of having a normal looking mouse and keyboard with a Mac which ruins the whole 'Macs look nice cause it's uniform' thing).
One argument I never understood about Macs (and weirdos like DoCk> who use Linux as a desktop OS as well) is the whole 'you can use an emulator if you want to use a PC program'. Well by defination emulators are slower, and if there is so much more software for the PC anyway why would you want to emulate everything and not just use the original? I guess if you're one of those guys that only uses a few specific programs (i.e. graphics for Mac or running servers for Linux) it makes sense, but I don't see it making sense for most people out there.
I hear Mac may start using Intel chips in their next generation computers... if that happens everything may be different.Epinephrine's History of Trench Wars:
