at least they foreshadowed shelob for part 3. I was beginning to wonder if she wasnt going to be in the movies at all. but gollum sasying "we will let her kill" secured that she will be there in part 3.

          RECAPPING

After looking thru all this text I have some opinions on that 50 reasons thing.

The following are quotes from the site followed by my mindful and tasteful commentary.

They Say: "Return of the Living Dead.
If you watch closely during the Inn scene, Frodo and his crew are shown getting stabbed by the Ring Wraiths. Then, five seconds later, they are fine again. Note to the director: try proofreading your movie before you release it to the public. "

Dameon Says : What moron wouldn't know that they weren't in the beds, they were across the street, the Wraiths were stabbing dummies.

          They Say: "Violence.

Give me one reason that story couldn't have been told without all the fighting."

Dameon Says : The fighting r0x0red

          They say: "Speaking of Orcs...

The Orcs were obviously stolen from PC game maker Blizzard and its Warcraft series. Too bad Blizzard is apparently too scared to sue New Line over it. "

Dameon says : Orcs weren't a brilliant invention by Blizzard Inc.

          They Say: "Sloppy CGI.

Gandalf's smoke boat is pretty impressive, but smoke cannot be made to travel horizontally, thus revealing it to be nothing but a cheap special effect. "

          Dameon laughs.......and laughs some more.

          They say:Invisible Implausibility.

Every time Frodo or Bilbo went invisible with the ring they should have also gone BLIND. Your eyes cannot function unless light is reflected off the cornea. If light passes through it (as must be the case with invisibility) sight is no longer possible. Also, rings do not turn you invisible.

          Dameon laughs more

          They say:Go-Go Gadget Arrow Sprouter.

Legolas shoots arrow after arrow at his enemies, and yet the number of arrows in his quiver never decreases. I guess elves have glands on their back that secrete arrows.

Dameon says: They restocked arrows lots, every time they went into town.

And I'll stop there, after going thru this and at the end of my post, i noticed that this guy can't be serious, or GOD HELP US, IF THIS GUY IS FOR REAL, NEVER LET HIM BEAR OFFSPRING!

THE WEB SITE IS NOT SERIOUS, IT IS JUST A JOKE. THEREFORE RESPONDING TO IT LIKE IT IS ANYTHING BUT A JOKE IS RIDICULOUS AND JUST MAKES YOU LOOK SILLY. PLEASE STOP.

Ok? Do we all get that now? Not real, joke. Definitely, absolutely 100% without a doubt, not worth debating or even considering otherwise, it's a joke.

In other news, the movie is fantastic. And yes I did read the books long ago and loved them and I'm completely happy with how the movie portrayed them so far. The books were amazingly well written and involved, there is only so much you can put in a 3 hour movie. Although I am disappointed the scouring of the shire won't be there, but that's a complaint for #3; #1 and #2 I've been thrilled with. Excellent job in my opinion.

Sleepy Weasel, one of the parts of the website's joke is other people responding to it like it's not a joke, and getting very angry. Then another part of the joke is even more people responding telling the first people that it's just a joke.

              Notice a pattern?
              I'd rather be SubSpacing.

I thought axing Tom Bombadil was a huge mistake in terms of vision, but I think probably for the best if he wanted the movie to sell.
Tom Bombadil would've added at least another half hour.

If you guys want accuracy in these movies, you will be sorely disappointed.

For complete accuracy, it should've been done in 6 movies, not 3. Think about how much they will have to jam in the third movie, for all of the major points to fit, the movie would have to be at least 5 hours long...

The book is always better because it leaves you imagination, and good writers like Tolkien don't make mistakes (Frodo never went to Gondor in the second book.)
                  Ну вот...

i was never a lotr fan but those movies are brilliant. i liekd how they change the dawrf into a more comedic role as his remark when he found his spot before the siege on hells...whatever it was almost made me cry. Loved it, can't wait for the third.

Only problem was the trees. walkign and talkign trees is cool, ifghting trees owns all, but there fight scene was rather short, yeah a few goblins got squished but geez, make them start playing baseball or soccer with one of them.

It was fucking boring. I've read the book so many times.. the movie failed in so many places to make the movie as exciting as it could (should) have been:

                          1) not to be a purist or anything, but they anally raped Faramir! he is supposed to come across as a wiser, more noble version of Boromir... that was barely capitalized on in the movie, except maybe at the last second

                          2) all that shit about the shit between arwen and ara gorn. wtf? they could've saved that for the next movie and put SHELOB in this one. WHERE THE FUCK WAS SHELOB? they lopped "the two towers" off before it finished and opted to put this romantic crap in. it just didn't do it for me.

                          3) the ents. k first of all treebeard's speech was hardly intelligible and he came across as a complete dufus, not as one of the oldest beings in existence. and the ents tearing down isengard was not as dramatic as it should've been.. I didn't really get the feeling that the ents were a fierce force to be reckoned with.. they were just sort of blah we're stomping on orcs blah. they weren't pissed off enough.

                          4) theoden - k aragorn argued with him pointlessly a few times, as if those behind this movie were trying to put in unnecessary conflict to keep the viewers awake. didn't work. also, what's with aragorn falling off the cliff. did anyone buy that? I felt it was a bit cheesy.

Although I must say, Gollum was done VERY well, the relationship between frodo and gollum was well done, and the scenes where gollum's "stinker and slinker" argue with one another were brilliant. I really appreciated Gollum in this movie. he was probably the most interesting character. Also, the battle scenes were freaking awesome.

One major problem with your summery Louis Tolken didn't do the movies, if you want to blame some one blame Peter Jackson. Also I did enjoy the movie and had I not read the books I would have been lost in the movie like my wife was. But allas they deveated from the story line in many parts. As far as the movie it was a good story but as for it being a story told from the book it has taken to many "bunny trails"
"Bilbo" SS is a sophisticated chat channel, nothing more.

Yes they were -- I must say, the Elves looked awesome in the Battle of Helmsdeep (spelling?) -- long blonde hair = automatically awesome looking. Great movie.

                              The movie was good.

                              Gimli is totally fucked up.
Too much comic ffs. IMO they changed him to be the clown, so that stupid retards that doesn't understand anything of the movie has something to laugh at (My friend is like that, he was dying of laughter when Gimli put on that mithril thing, I was just pissed at that time)

Dwarves, (if anyone has read Silmarillion) were made to LAST. HOLD. THEY ARE NOT FUCKING PUSSIES THAT WHINE ABOUT THEM BEING HUNGRY OR SOMETHING. FFS. THEY ARE STRONG, TOUGH GUYS.

                              The ents. .

In the books, the impression of the ents were that they were BIG and STRONG (heh, they werent weak in the movie either but), and dangerous.

Taken from the book: "The ents seem calm, but somehow I wouldn't want to be against them."

In the film, the ents were all sort of tiny, and slim.

                              Anyway, the movie ruled.
(Except for gimli being way too much the clown.)

i saw the movie after i read the book twice or something...
and the battle scenes were nice indeed...

                                BUT

in the end i wasnt satisfied with the the way they made movie...
(but its a good thing they kept Disneys filthy hands off it!!!)
                                YUCK

i agree with whoever said that it should be made in to 6 movies, hmmmm 5 maybe cuz the 4th book is kinda boring.... interesting but boring....

and i think they had better kicked arwen from the whole movie... (liv tyler is a pretty girl but y not let aragorn f*ck around with eowyn for a bit if u MUST have a romance in the movie)
and her story is more alongside that of aragorn anyway takin less time to follow in the movie....

i could go on for a while complaining bout all sorts of things but ill just stop....

                                PS: concs open letter: ROFL
