Some of these you have to have known of before:

6 balls to an over in cricket
27 books in the new testament
100 cents in a rand (google says this is the South American dollar)
15 players in a rugby team (so shoot me if I didn't know this one, I'm betting half the forum population doesn't either)
39 books of the old testament
66 books of the bible
64 squares on a chess board (I didn't know this off the top of my head, though it makes sense now)
23 pairs of chromosomes in the human body (I vaguely remember this from high school... vaguely)

Perhaps some of those you could find out by a little word play and deduction, but most of those are a total 'wtf' if you're not an incredibly cultured person (and here I thought I was).

that's a good find DTF, and it took a bit of thinking but I admit defeat at 30



and you can believe me or not on that, but if you want proof i can pm you the answers i put - i was particularly pleased when i worked out the 32 is the T in D F at which W F

The one's I didn't manage to get are: 90 D in a R A, 9 P in S A, and 15 M on a D M C

Edit: now i looked at the answers Ilya put, the 90 one is bloody obvious, and I was toying with the S A answer, but couldn't think of what P could stand for. 15 M on a D M C i would never have got though, so even if i had thought more on it, i would only have made 32 :'(
