If there really was a case when men became unsatisfied with women who were 99% perfect then all the guys who would only normally go for 75% women wouldn't believe their luck as all these 99% women are being ignored. Then all the guys who would go for the 100% women would be thinking "shit look at all the girls those guys are getting and they're really ugly" and want a piece of the action with the >100% girls and the balance would be restored
