xbox or ps2?

PS2 is the way to go. Better game selection, better factory supplied controller, backward compatibility for previous PS games.... The list goes on.

I don't know. A lot of the sports games that run on both X Box and PS2 look a lot worse on PS2. If they could have made a game that looks like Splinter Cell for PS2, they would have.

First, just to get it out of the way, Splinter Cell IS coming out for PS2, you know. Secondly, the difference in the graphics is still not very much. Madden '03 may look more impressive on the Xbox, but the PS2 controller is much better suited for the game. That would be a bigger factor for me than the graphics. Thirdly, comparing two ports of the same game on two different systems isn't very useful, as it is the games that aren't on multiple platforms that make a larger difference.

I kind of thought how to reply to your post TK, PS2 just doesent seem like a good system to me. The question of whether to buy an "XBOX or PS2" is opionated. So no matter what side im fighting for I always have someone against me. -Cops

I agree, but to do so with the reasoning that the PS2's graphics "suck" is like saying you prefer Jolt over Coca Cola because Coke doesn't have enough caffeine.

Yeah, agreed, I wouldn't say the PS2's graphics suck, no. I don't really know much about videogame systems, I just have all three of them in my room because my roommate likes RPGs. Yeah, I agree that the PS2 controller is better for Madden games, but that has nothing to do with graphics, and I didn't know that Madden was ported from X-Box to PS2. For some reason I thought they individually programmed all the Madden games.

If you like rpgs like me, then PS2 is the only way to go.

I agree that PS2 can lack in graphics at times, but I believe that is due to how many games they release compared to the other systems. They just don't spend as much time on some of their games as others do. Look at nintendo, they always release the least amount of games, but when they release something like metroid prime the graphics are well appreciated.

I own a ps2 and it's pretty good and it beats the hell out of buying a dvd player. Although I never play it anymore. But xbox has more saving capacity without using a memory card but the controllers I dislike. But over ps2 and Xbox I'd said go with xbox. =/

The new X BOX controllers are much smaller... about the same size as the ps2 ones
