God Dammit, fuck spirited away. It's so fucking overrated, it's not even funny. I've seen that movie three different times in various classes. It's supposed to be a powerful, moving and beautiful film that is in a class of it's own, yadda yadda yadda. It's alright. It's not better than Princess Mononoke (probably spelled that wrong, deal with it) , it's not better than the Iron Giant, it's not better than Snow White, Akira, or any other animated film that you might tihnk is a "classic". Just because in the past 10 years there have been a huge, huge amount of shitty anime movies does not mean that this is average film (with an average plot and average cast of characters) is the second coming. For a good portion of the film the plot drags the fuck on and the animation, while fluid, is not nearly engrossing enough to overcome the bland and cumbersome character delevopment, or the shitty, 4th grade, childish execution of plot progression. Fuck compliments towards this movie, it kills babies and shits on pictures of Jesus, while eating chicken wings doused in the bbq sauce OF THE DEVIL.
