To define what I meant by school uniforms rather than a dress as you like privelage at a school. My point was that if they all dressed the same in a standard uniform, you most likely would not have the ridicule from other kids mocking how one is dressed and placing them in a group of outcasts or the popular crowd.

I dunno, but personally I would have have a blast making fun of kids dressed in the goth look when I was in School. This is probably one of the many reasons these kids had a deathlist of the people they wanted to kill.

Put all these kids in a standard uniform and nobody can classify you as anything while you are in the school. Sure thay can call you fat ass or zit face or whatever...but at least it would not have the look of Halloween walking through your school.

Plus....I still just do not get the whole thing of nail polish and eyeliner for guys? Unless your in Green Day or Dame Edna perhaps

Yeah...that's true, but do you really need kids going to class that look the part of a circus clown or a stand in from the "Night of the Living Dead" movie?

Perhaps the point that gets lost is the fact that you are in school to learn and not dress like an outcast.

Of course you would be ridiculed if you had 5000 zits all over your face, glasses so thick you could start a fire if you held them up to the sun, hair that was never washed that was so greasey you could fry an egg on it, body odor that would be worse than a rotting dead mouse found under a floor board or behind a wall.

There are tons of reasons that one would possibly make fun of another. yet visuals are important in any learning atmosphere and if some asswipe came into a class wearing some obnoxious attire, I would probably ignore what was going on in a classroom due to this distraction.

People will always find ways to make fun of one another, this will not change.

I say a full crackdown! Bring back the ruler and paddle and let the teachers beatthe crap out of these kids if they step out of line! Parents do not even discipline their kids, as they may be held on child abuse!

Or perhaps the draft should just become a part of this country again. Everyone has to take part in the armed forces and do basic!

Most goths I know (I don't associate with the nessecarily,so I don't know alot of them) are really just nice people who like to dress dark.

I have always been someone that was like, people can do whatever they want, dresswise, musicwise, speakwise, whatever aslong as they don't invade my or other peoples rights with doing so.

The one thing in common amongst the kids planning these attacks, are that they want to go after the popular kids!

It wasn't the lack of parental supervision, or the fascination/obsession with Hitler, or the torment these kids surely received on a daily basis from their peers, nor was it the fact that they idolized and wanted to emulate the Columbine kids, specifacially picking the date they commited their shooting a few years earlier, and it sure as hell wasn't the fact that these kids needed psychological aid in the form of counseling.

No, it was none of that. It was the video games.

The only time a video game has crossed over into real life for me was when I was asleep, my girlfriend told me to roll over because I was hogging the bed, and I (apparently) told her to "go kill the dragon."

She's never let me live it down, and I'm ashamed enough of it as it is.
