Ness and Pikachu both had the best combo of both quickness and power A moves next to fox. Pikachu and Ness also had better air combos than fox, with pikachu only slightly slower and ness being a whole hell of a lot slower, but more dynamic and overpowering than fox's. You can do a bit of your own research via google if you'd like.

Falcon is good in the 64, but I never knew a Falcon that could beat a good pikachu or fox, he's just not quick ENOUGH. He's the most powerful of the speedsters, but he's also the slowest and least recoverable. Because of his power moves he has a very awkward play style that, yes is easy to adapt to, but also hard to play against because it's so weird. He has his pros and cons, but, at least in the first one, isn't on par with the other top characters. I also hear that he's a lot better in melee, although I'll have to try that out myself because I always enjoyed playing him from time to time in the 64 version.

TK, there's a difference between knowing a game, and knowing a game and getting really angry if anyone disagrees with you and taking it to a personal level. I know plenty of people in the first area to really offset any of the douchbaggery that goes on in the second, because quite frankly if anything that's fun of any sort is taken too far, it can go sour for one or more people.

Captain Falcon is really fast in Melee, but he's a bit too fast compared to his regular melee attacks, so you sometimes feel that he's out of controll sometimes.

And his Falcon Kick is ok in crowdy fights, but it's useless on 1v1, and if you're up against Mario, you're as good as dead. The cape reflecting move is as anti-Falcon as it can get. Reflecting a Falcon that tries to get back from a knockback is the best feeling ever.

So the better players stick to Gannondorf, he's heavy as shit and hard to knock out, and almost every attack he does is a KO attack.

And the spike attack downwards in the air is just evil when someone is trying to jump back.

Google nothing Paul, I really don't see where this supposed power of pikachu or ness is coming from, their range on all fronts is absolute shit anyway, I guess it just that with Falcon, you can hit them from distances that they simply cannot touch you at from so many angles, so I've always been too busy nailing those two easy shits way before they could possibly hit me to notice if their attacks actually do any damage. Falcon's down air attack goes stright down further and knocks everyone higher off the floor than any other, his upward smash is what is the real god in that game, oh, did I mention his ridiculously long legs makes for some of the easiest juggling around? Couple that with his third jump being one of the few air grab moves in the game and the fact you can kick them with fire (you were saying something about not being fast enough, have you ever fucking seen a Falcon kick?) in case they manage to fall outside your range a bit, and it results in me honestly being suprised that none of you people are actually complaining about him being the one that is overpowered. And no he isn't better in melee, he got the nerf in that one. Though, so too did pikachu and ness, so I guess that's where you guys are basing this supposed godlyness from, but the fact they didn't take care of the travesty that is fox type while adding in another fucking one makes Melee really not worth playing, and really, quite a moot point of discussion. So again, while this about the 64 version, you still have yet to convince me that you guys even touched the game, by the way you guys are describing it.

Vyk, yeah the discussion is quite shit, but this is because Ratty is involved, any thread with this guy is guaranteed to be crap. But one thing to note, which is very important, these aren't cartoon characters motherfucker, they're first/second party Nintendo vidoegame characters. Huge difference, a literal fucking WORLD of difference, one has 0 interaction, the other is purely based on it. I guess it just takes an appreciation for such things after spending countless hours on a launch SNES with Super Mario World and F-ZERO, and then later playing the shit and back out of Earthbound, Kirby's Super Star and Super Metroid. So you have problem with the discussion of a fighting game including characters from the best games known to man, bitching about it won't stop it, and neither of us are moderators so neither of us can delete this shit, so you'd might as well eat a dick about it. Actually, I played SSB on the N64 for 2 years, so I know what I'm talking about. Any decent Ness or Pikachu player could kill a Falcon player easily, and all three of them were way overpowered.

Didn't like Melee cause your favourite character got nerfed? Only shows how bad of a player you are, that game is perfectly balanced.
