    dream

    ok, i had a dream, and somehow the heel of my right foot got a huge gash in it. and i deamt of getting stitches in my heel in gory detail.
    i woke up, and there was a dull ache in my heel right in the same place as in my dream. i'm pretty sure it was in my mind, and not a real injury though.

    so i think i'm going a bit crazy, and i told my buddy, and she said she thought the fact that i dreamt about getting gory stitches was weird in itself, while i thought it perfectly normal, but the crazy part was that it hurt when i woke up.

    so what i'm wondering is how many people have these types of dreams. (either dreams where the feelings persist into consciousness, or just dreams of graphic gore) and maybe it would help if you declared how insane you are and in which way.

    Have you considered that the dream wasn't the cause but the effect? Perhaps your heel really is hurt and, while you were sleeping, your brain interpreted that pain and formed the dream to explain it.

      Innumerous times. When I was drinking for a few days straight and then slept, I sometimes halfway woke up, but could not move for what seemed an entire hour. I was aware of everything around me, but could not move or give any sign that I am there.
      Same goes for death/injury dreams, for example I dreamt about being squished in some sort of giant press, and I screamed like fuck when i woke up because I thought every goddamn cell in my body ached like hell.

            I'm pretty sure TK's got it right. Sometimes, even while sleeping if something is happening to your physical body while you're in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, your brain will process the feeling, but stay asleep, during the REM period. Kind of like dreaming of falling off a cliff... and waking up on the floor.

                        I had a dream I was falling down a cliff and then at the moment I hit the ground in the dream I hit the ground in real life and woke up. And I'm pretty sure I didn't have a heart attack, I just was being pulled off my bed by my dog.

                          everyone says theyve had that dream, i never have, but onetime my lamp fell on my foot while it was hot and i had a dream i was being sucked into the sun, woke up later with a burnt foot
