My GPA is outta 8.0, so a 5.16 is completely plausible on my scale, though horrible.

Interesting--most grading scales that I've seen have been 4.0 (unweighted) or 5.0 (weighted). I'll take your word for it.

My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

I graduated from college (BS) this past March and now I work for a web company. Looking back I had it pretty easy; I never took the SAT and got passing but nothing special on the few AP tests I took. My grades in high school were terrible because I didn't do any of the busy work. I thought it was pretty unbalanced that I could get at least 90%+ on all tests including and the final and still come out with a C or B because I didn't push paper the rest of the time.

While getting into a good college don't hurt your chances for success, I don't believe that it is a make or break point in one's life. Congratulations to everyone who graduated, but just remember that the only thing burning yourself out studying guarantees is a sleeping disorder :]

That would have been better if there was one of those surprise exclamation marks over Mario's head.

When did the 2400 thing come into use? I got a 1420 out of 1600 back when the SATs didn't have the writing section.

ahhh yes, I forgot they added writing, it all makes more sense now.. I remember the hoopla when they announced that.. Because there's no specific answer like in math and such.. and like one teacher has to read it, and then another has to read it and they have to aggree on the grade or it goes to a third teacher... or something like that. God, I hate standardized tests.

Anyways, one thing I know high school didn't really prepare me for (I suppose different schools may differ) is writing long papers. I know in high school (though I never was in honors english) I never had had to write papers like in college, in length, in content, and in frequency.

This is the 1st full year for new SAT scores.

BTW.....nobody here has taken the ACT's??? I am suprised. Much better test and widely accepted in more schools than the SAT. I did much better on my ACT's yrs ago than the SAT's. I just do not understand why a test for college is based solely upon Math and Reading/Grammer can be such an accurate guide, when ACT's cover the same but add in Science & History. SAT's would be great if colleges required you taking only English and Math, but core curriculum classes for almost all 1st and 2nd year students require history and science as well.
