I think it was a tasteful update, for modern, younger audiences. I spent my first semester of freshman year at a typical jock louisiana school, and they all fell asleep during the Zefferilli version, but the Luhrman version, they enjoyed.

I take it none of you guys have delved into the asian film industry, and their many wonders in the horror genre.

Japan, Korea, and China are creating some of the scariest and most original movies ever!

Then America buys the rights to the film from the asian film companies, and remakes them.

        And they suck.

Saw the Omen tonight, and I enjoyed it. I never saw the original, so I guess I went in with no expectations. I see a trend of alot of people going into movies expecting too much, just go in and enjoy the hour and a half, 2 hours of entertainment on the screen.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

                Horror movie.

the horror movie "the ring" was pretty much ruined for me when I made the mistake of watching the original "the ring" called "ring".

"ring" was japanese.. and freaking horrible.

If you have never seen this...do a couple shots and have a good laugh as it is dated in materail and efx, but you will see that this was the movie that opened the door to the gore and blood ridden movies of todays horror films.
I saw that movies the first time trippin on some micro-dot. It was great... both the trip and the movie! :turned:

Has anyone seen the "Legend of Hell House"? It was made in the 60s I think and I was started watching it on tv by myself at night, I got a little goosebumpy and changed the channel. Is the rest of the movie like that?

you mean ringu. And if thats the only delving you did, then shame on you. That movie was made in 1998, before the Japanese (and really, the asian) film business had evolved. You wouldn't judge all American horror flicks by one movie would you?
