Movie Forum?

since music and sports got its own forum maybe movies too? seen quite a few movie threads and it might be a good idea to dedicate a forum to them?

i like movies and watch quite a few obscure ones so i'd like it

think it would be a bit inactive or specialised audience like the sports one but i think it would be worth it and might promote some interest in discussing movies.

Or, we could do a few hundred thousand subforums dedicated each to varying topics and feelings.

subforums are designed to catch overflow of varying degrees of junk that draw away from General Discussion or the discussion in the thread.

Example: Fighting threads.. you people fight over anything and nothing, so it happens all the time and clutters up General Discussion.

Example2: Recycled Humor.. oh how the peoples love to post images and links to video with no other content to their threads but to see to it that the next big contender for internets meme of the week gets passed on around.. wonder why that one's there.

Example3: Sports. Oh the sports fans. They love posting about how this one kicked that ball just to this direction and made it go that far. What do they hate? When people interrupt their discussions with "Don't u mene socker? wtf is footbol u nerd? LOL".. So with lots of sports discussions it's easier to let them have a subforum so that people that don't give a crap but love to hit that reply button, won't do it so easily or as stupidly and annoy them.


How many movie discussions are thrown off the rails and around the bend by people that want nothing to do with the movie? Movies are general discussion. Trim it out and all we get left here are news items, the occasional I'm out of puberty and discovering how deep I really am meandering thought, and lets try this fun new forum game threads.

Edit: The day I see so many literature and art posts in Gen Discussion that it prohibits my ability to sort through the General Discussion threads, that's when I'll say it's a good idea. Until then, it'd just be empty and barren.

i think a general entertainment forum would work best

it would encompass all the music threads, and the steady but small movie threads, and the very rare (but existent) literature threads.

shit, making a movie thread might even increase movie discussion. i know for a fact that musicthreading has gone up considerably since it's creation

I don't agree, general entertainment should just go in general discussion. Trying too many specific forums defeats the purpose of general discussion. If they want to talk about movies, just do it in GD.

here is my theory: while making separate forums was a noble idea, it never really took off like it should. i would be happiest if there were 2 forums: general discussion, and subspace discussion. i mean, who really cares if music has its own forum? that's just more navigating for me to do. in fact, the lack of participation in some forums makes me skip over them totally, and in doing so miss some good threads occasionally. i think this happens with others as well, and this results in lower participation from everyone. one big general discussion forum would speed things up.
