Not... really. On the old SAT, 1000 was the "average" score, being 500 on math/verbal each. I guess with the added writing section, 1500/2400 is the "average". You've got yourself 1400 total, so slightly below average. I know some state schools (FSU for example) had an SAT requirement of 870, since they know that some people simply don't test well. Dazzle them other places with extra-curricular activities and GPA.

The average (arithmetic mean) score in 2004-2005 was 1538, adn the two scores are comparable.

I got a 620 on the Math I and a 580 on the Math II SAT II's. I don't know if that's good.

Probably just means your rudimentary math skills (algebra, geometry, basic trigonometry) are better than your higher division ones (higher trig, analytic geometry, calculus). In some sense that's good because in calculus when doing integration by parts, you can know the calculus back and front but in the page full of calculations and substitutions, making one small arithmatic mistake can cost you the whole problem.

I had to study my ass off for the SAT, and I still only got a 1720.

But I did get a 12 on the writing portion :wub:
