  • i already knew some mods dont give a shit but....

....do things like that really have to be?

Sakke1's one year ban is over! Let's celebrate that with Bomberman! Type ?go bomberman to play! -***** <ER>

do we have to tell ppl its cool to get banned? i dont wanna give out names cos i dont see a point in discrediting staffers more than they already do by themselves, but since some guys really work on the marketing campaign and try to get new ppl in i think you as the caring staffers should make sure things like that wont happen. i also saw some newbies being pissed off by staffers today who thought they are "too cool" to answer their questions in pub and instead gave them bullshit answers ignoring their complains about teamkills. it was "normal" players that had to tell them stuff. and i cant say this is something special. i see it every day. some staffers just dont give a shit about whats happening to the game and feel just cool they can host stuff for ppl that already play for years and ban ppl randomly. there is some of them i really respect for giving alot to the game, but guys...think about who you wanna have in staff before you take them.
i guess then ideas like the <PH> tag (PubHelper: some player initiative to help newbies that do not get ANY form of assitance by the real mods) wont have to come up. and again it was staffers that laughed at the idea and made fun of it. thats just sad.

btw if any of you bot coders got a bit time left give the pubbots a !help command players can give newbies to inform them about the basics of the game. i know its all on the F1 helpfile and on the homepage but some ppl just need it interactive and most of the staff doesnt give more info on ?help than they have to.

If people can't press f1, the standard help command for all programs, then that's their own problem. An option like that which is accesible for everyone to send to anyone (if I'm reading this right) is ripe for abuse. If I'm misreading and you want the newbies to private message a bot with a command without knowing what any of those are... then well... I'm too stunned to respond.

      Stop crying.

Staff does ban TeamKillers and cheaters, as they see them, and they answer questions when they see the need to it.

Having so called PH's isnt a bad idea, but you can do it volunteeringly. Otherwise it's just another tag for ZH's.

You can go to pub and answer the questions if you want, and tell them to press f1 few times to see things, simple. No need to blame staff for what you can do aswell.

actually this thread wasnt primary about a help command but anyways, what i mean is that questions are answered yah, but ppl get not told what other features the game has, i found ppl that played for 2 weeks and didnt know there was more than one pub. or be honest, how many ppl use the ?message option? and macros for example, nobody shows ppl what a macro is when they start this game. lil things like that, like the ?find or freqchanges that ppl have to find out on their own or have to wonder about first before they get told. when i saw this game first i didnt have inet yet, and i was dam glad i could play the old tutorial before i started to play the game online. one big thing for example is...who tells those newbies ever tw is about basing and not spawning? thats definatly not any mod and mostly not even any player. its something thats missing since the continuum client. and those help ticker messages are no big help. imagine you were new to the game, would u have the time to read all that while you fly around trying to find out how to play this game?

There's teamkillers who get called on and teamkillers who don't. In a given day, the amount of times a player is actually called via ?cheater for teamkilling is very few within the few hours I'm online.

And for the calls that are given there are some that are legit, the guy sits there hitting their terr, thats pretty easy to call. Then, for the most part, the players that are "teamkilling and ruining the zone" are the players who are the newbies that you so hold dear and wish to protect. Mainly players practicing those special jav shots who catch an idiot sitting against a wall and doesn't have the common sense to actually move and/or reposition themselves so they don't get hit by the said player.

Be proactive and stop crying about things that most people can handle within their own power without having to cry to us to hide their own faults.

Edit: and moved to the correct forum

wasnt you the one who laughed at the newbie guy complaining about ayden teamkilling him on purpose with no enemy in range?

and im NOT talking about accidental stuff or idiots running into explosives, im talking about things on purpose or because ppl dont care about killing their team.

im not crying dude, just trying to make ppl who care about the game think. obviously YOU are one of those who feel guilty on what i said and have to get defensive.

                        We dont ban people randomly.

Compare our efforts to root out team killers, cheaters and pests to that of any police force. We are not always going to get the bad guy.

?help has always existed, Continuum changed little in the functionality of this game as far as the end user is concerned.

We inform players using periodic zoners to this command and to the ?cheater command. We also have a bot network setup to alert users of the option to report team killers, these bots also do other things. You can use either for Subspace/TW related questions or problems practically 24/7 and contrary to popular belief most calls are taken and responded to.

It's a pipe dream to expect staffers or even some "Pub helper" To sit in publics all day long looking for people to help. I use to think that was a perfect job for ZHs but now I see the operations of this zone differently. It wouldn't hurt if they did play publics or idle there though but actually making it a requirment that staffers sit there or play there when they'd rather be off playing TWD or basing, wbduel ect.. might not be too good for their morale. Half the fun of this game is coming to understand and use these advanced commands effectively. I don't see why it is our job to individually and personally alert every single person who enters this zone to the fact that these commands exist. It is through the community, squads, friendships ect.. where people learn these things and if anything it makes those experiences more fun. If you still feel different on this and you can think of a way of providing that information to the masses more efficiently then please go make up a new F1 menu, self appoint yourself a <PH>, Home work helper or whatever the fuck you want, make a TWPS about it and get involved in the process. It's not enough to just lie, whine and cry.

Edit: If you ever need information use Robohelp. :Robohelp:!lookup content, if you don't want to use a ?help message.

i cant see what is so wrong with that ad. however, i agree with the pub thing. the tking going on is ruining the game. i suggest to turn off ?go base and ?go javs along with some other stuff for one weekend so you actually see that too. a pub weekend. like it was some years ago, just elim, pub and events. or screw elim. just pub and events, that was fun.
