  • Top 6 PS2 Games?

This is a ps2 topic, make a nintendo/xbox one if you want :P

    In no particular order (imo)-

    -Devil May Cry 3

    -Kingdom Hearts 2

    -Metal Gear Solid 3

    -SSX

    -Dynasty Warriors 4

    -GTA III

You can choose your six because of how much fun you've had with them, if you think they had a lasting/groundbreaking impact on ps2 gaming as we know it, or even if you think the presentation/quality was just top-notch.

Just let us know why you chose them. I'll post why I chose mine later (I can do that, I created the topic, naner)- just start posting away!
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

    Why 6?

    My list:

Metal Gear 3: Subsistance - A more complete version of MG3 with a new camera system. The extras, like ports of the original Metal Gear 1 and 2 push it over the top, as does multi-player action.
Shadow of the Colossus - Stunning in its simplicity. Every battle is a boss battle. The art excellent and the plot is emotional.
God of War - Pure violence with perfectly tuned controls.
Dragon Quest VIII - A DQ game Square-Enix was willing to market to North America. Excellent voice acting, and the characters burst with personality.
Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time - It takes a bit to get into this game, but I got hooked. Battles are fun and don't get as tiresome and repetitive as in other RPGs
Suikoden III - Great story told in multiple interweaving perspectives. Subsequent sequels have failed to live up to III.

Well since I only own around 6 games:

Burnout Takedown (I can't believe no one has listed a Burnout game yet!)
          Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
          God of War
          Dragon Quest VIII
          Suikoden III
          Devil May Cry 3

Bilbo, sell me Disgaea! I refuse to pay $50 to get it from Ebay

Erh, I didn't really buy the game either.

DMC3 is awesome for stress release until you meet the first boss, then it's the opposite, I fucking suck at that game because Cerberus kills me every time. It quickly lots its appeal after the first four times.

So you got stuck on Devil May Cry 3, but didn't have a problem beating God of War? Please tell me you were playing them both on the hardest difficulty?

P.S. God of War on the hardest unlockable difficulty ("God" I believe), now that's insane.

DMC3 is sooo much easier after Cerberus, you have no idea. I think the programmers made him so hard so it would ween out the people who gave up easily.

Just stick to chilling in the back shooting your guns and aim for the head with the yellow eyes. It's the head that calls the ice from the ceiling- once that head is gone, Cerberus is pretty much as easy as the rest of the bosses. When the yellow-eyed head does call ice down, just roll to avoid it- stay at the back and shoot his health away for your first time with maxed out Ebony and Ivory handguns. If you're in trickster style, make sure to use the wall run (get near a wall and press O) to run up the wall when he attacks, and sky-hop to avoid when he rushes the screen. Airk Hike is also good to use. Once you beat him you can go back and learn some combos and learn how/when to run up to him and smack him away, he gets easier every time you whoop him.

Took me two deaths with him before I beat him, now I'm up to the point where I don't even need any items when facing him, and can go through the whole fight without getting hit unless I'm in Royal Guard style or not paying attention.

                    Why 6?
5's been done before and I honestly can't think of 10 games myself, so I chose 6.

DMC3 fucked me up on the easiest.

One day when I hate myself I'll probably try to beat him again, but it was totally not cool to make him that hard. I can't really remember what I did against him, I almost killed him once, but I can tell you I am kickass on every part of the level before you meet the boss.

nah it's such a good game though, once you beat him and get used to the system the game is splooge.

i highly reccommend trying it out soonish, pm me for any other help with it.

Ratchet: Deadlocked - Incredible single player experience that makes you think of the old days of "Smash TV"

Star Ocean 3: Til' the End of Time - Besides the whacked out ending, quality Squenix polish and such.

Burnout Revenge - Balls to the wall racing, you can't play another racing game the same again.

Guitar Hero - Its like Air Guitar, only you don't look so much like a jackass while you're doing it ... well ... ... maybe a little bit.

Guilty Gear XX: #Reload - With an odd pound sign, this game is the single best 2D Fighting game nobody ever played.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence - Take the highest rated Metal Gear Solid game (Snake Eater), add a new camera angle that isn't ass-backwards, tack on the beginnings of fun multiplayer, online action, and for shits and giggles let us play Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, which was never released in America. If this were an equasion, it'd equal "fun".

Gitaroo Man - I know, I have that same recurring dream where I was a small japanese boy with a magical Guitar called a "Gitaroo", and I fight space sharks and skeletons and other things by playing this magical instrament. Wait, you don't? Well, don't worry, play this game and you'll see what I mean.

Rez - The game that everyone knows they never played. I played it .. I liked it ... I don't know why everyone wants it, though... you know, hit that "rare gem" status. Well .. it is awesome, but .. I never thought it'd get such a following.

Winning Eleven 9 International - The awesome, fully customizable Football game that now has online play! I love it, at least.

Jak 3 - Take the Grand Theft Auto formula, add a real story and take out all the crap you won't show your mother and you got a real awesome game for everybody to enjoy.

Jak X: Combat Racing - Super Mario Kart Evolved

Tales of Legendia - The latest in the "Tales" Series, I love this RPG for its quirky weird characters, dialouge and "totally-not-anime" inspired graphics.
