Haha yeah, they must have drawn it in a mirror or something. Guess I can't say too much considering I forgot about the little C joystick on the only gaming platform I personally own.

ps2 controller is horrible for fps's.

Geno is right, GC controller is alot easier to use. Try playing Resident Evil 4 on the ps2 and then try it on the GC.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

GC's controller is good to hold, the buttons are horrible except for simple games where you mash the buttons.

Ever tried to play a fighting game on the GC? It's the most horrible thing to do in the world, the joystick isn't accurate, and the D-pad is the worst shit ever.

Capcom Vs. SNK 2: E0 for example, there's an GC-asldfhsdlj mode so it makes it easier to play, all you need to do is put your hand on the C-stick and roll it around and own people. Cause the controller is so horrible to play with.

The PS2 controller fits for everything, but it isn't comfortable to play FPS on. But I would still say that GC is the worst at FPS games. And the Xbox controller sucks at playing fighting games too.

Funny how you contradict yourself as usual Richard, you're just a silly fanboy with lots of anger. You're one of those people who never admit that you're wrong.

You keep saying how I'm not the one being logical. Maybe you should look again. Admit that you're wrong and move on.

I own a PS2 and a GC, a PSP and a DS Lite (no Xbox in this house, and it won't be any). And I'm going to buy PS3 and the Wii. I don't consider myself a fanboy of PS3, but Wii won't be as awesome as you say it will be.

EDIT: Thought I posted in 2 different threads, guess I was wrong.

EDIT2: Not going to post a 3rd post. @the Red Steel trailer.

Last time I checked, water doesn't come out as small drops when a fish tank is broken, water flows.

An awesome feature where it seems like you can freeze the time and aim at several people, and then shoot quickly in real time. Ever heard of recoil? I've tried a small handgun when I was with my buddy at a Heimevern shit in the woods. And even that small thing got a pretty decent recoil. And I thought FPS games were trying to be as real as possible.

A small trailer, and it already shows flaws in the game. And I'm 100% sure that the swordfighting isn't going to be good either. Why couldnt he just run backwards and headshot the bastard, trying to slash with a sword to look cool.

GC doesn't even really have good FPS games. The only decent FPSs that I know of are the 007 series games. For me, it's really not that hardto play, or at least not from the controller stand point. On the 007 games, one of the controller setups is EXACTLY like the Halo default setup. It's pretty easy to handle.

P.S., come on now, you can't tell me this looks awesome for an FPS.

Why they don't just give up and make every d-pad like the ps2's, I'll never know.

              BUT

A game like Smash should be expected to be using the older controller, things in upper level play of it are too precision to be done with anything motion sensor. While it's possible they may have wanted to try it with the new controller, this is a reaction to the wishes of the smash community.

Ratty, at first I thought you were just annoying. But you really are a douchebag.

If you want an ultra-realistic FPS, then buy a gun and go shoot some cops you idiot. People like you that demand ultra-realistic games are the reason why games now are terrible. They're no longer fun. They're just "real."

They're called games, not real life, for a reason.

I thought I had conceded this already but it seems I hadnt in hindsight. Still you cant play anything other than fps really on xbox, and on ps2 you really cant play fps with that controller so they compliment each other. genocidal, how can you say going from a to one of those other buttons is easier than x -> triangle on ps2..err well it is slightly, but compare the difficulty of hitting b -> x on GC in comparison to x -> triangle on ps2

Its safe to say that Sony is riding on the fact that their fanbase created by the games that have followed with their system's legacy has brought them to where they are, they are not the least bit worried if their system is innovative or not. As long as it keeps doing what it does, at a faster and sharper graphic detail, Sony players will not complain, because this is what they expect and anticipate. Song definitely has no reason to change the way their games are played, so they're just gonna play it passive while Nintendo tries to rock the boat of console video gaming. As a game console system creator, its saddening that Sony doesn't try to constantly evolve their system, but why fix something that isn't broken? (cliché attack) Its an economical world, and if you're the top dog like Sony, you'd like to play it safe, while at the same time not fall behind on your competitors.

                                (...continued)

                                PS3

                                Turok

                                PS2

Urban Chaos (hahaha... URBAN CHAOS!!!! CUL-DE-SAC ANARCHY!!!)

And let's not forget one of the most played FPSes of all time:

                                Half-Life

Now, I'm not saying that "realism" doesn't necessarily involve a plasma blaster here or a giant mechanized robot there, but I honestly can't remember the last time I had to ice a crazed fireman or laser-blast a T Rex into last Saturday. You can say that FPSes are all about realism, but outside of something like Call to Arms or Call of Duty (which are incredibly fictionalized, anyway), you'd be hard-pressed to actually back that up.

Myself? FPSes aren't my thing. In my point of view, the only "evolution" that the FPS genre has went through in the last 8 years is "finding a better/cooler way to blow something up." While that's entertaining for a few short, fleeting moments, I can't tell you a single one that I still play. I can, however, recount fully the first time I figured out how to make the goat follow me in King's Quest.

I may be dating myself, but fuck it. Like I said, like FPSes all you want, but they're not the measuring stick for consoles or systems.
