When I talk about FPS games being REALISTIC, I'm talking about the physics engine in the game. How things fall, recoil when you shoot with a shotgun, bodies falling, things getting destroyed. That's why I mentioned the water in the fish tank, and the no-recoil from the gun who shot 4 times in a row.

See the connection?

RATTY: Water from fish tank + recoil from guns -> Reaslism -> physics.

Not: Realism -> things that don't exist in the real world isn't allowed, only real life guns and cities.

Sorry, but most of the FPS these days are trying to be as realistic as possible, unless its another Max Payne or something similar.

These days? Programmers and developers have been itching to have more realistic physics engines and environments in their games for years now, at least a decade- it's not a fad like Pogs, bell-bottoms or myspace. The reason "most FPS's" are becoming more realistic is because of the technology, they finally have the ability to do so.

Failing to realize this and then tooting your own horn and calling other people idiots is what I'd like to call "Irony of the week".
