Any rumors heard about it? I hope it has certain things like more trade offers during seasons, different schedules each season, and new rookies created (updated rosters).

According to a report on IGN, on Next Gen systems you will be able to play NHL07 using only the two joysticks and the shoulder buttons. Basically, the left stick will control your skates while the right stick will control your hands. You can still play using the classic controller scheme of course, but they wanted to create a more intuitive and more realistic control scheme. They also overhauled the puck physics so that it's no longer "glued" to your skater so good right joystick control will be necessary. They also got rid of the speed burst button so players will always skate according to their ratings. Goalies limbs will also be individually programmed so they will each react according to how they should to make a certain save, as opposed to having their whole bodies moving together the same way every time. That means there won't be any more standard save animations.

All that is what's been announced for Next Gen systems like the Xbox360. News hasn't been as forthcoming for current generation systems, but differences are expected. I don't know how much of the new ideas I described above they will be able to add to current system games. They did announce that all versions of the game will have an updated dynasty mode that will take into account the new CBA.

The release versions of NHL hockey games will never have that season's rookies because the NHLPA defines its members as being those who have played at least a game in the NHL. Rookies who have not played a game will not qualify and are therefore not licensed to be used. The only rookies that will be in the game will be those who have played at least one game in the NHL, but are still classified rookies by the NHL because they haven't played oer a certain number. If you want to add the new rookies that will enter the league this year, you'll have to wait for them to have played a game and then download a roster update.

Sounds fricken awesome on the next gen systems, but i prefer playstation over xbox and the ps3 is expensive to say the least. Do you know if they schedules change after each season of dynasty? Currently on NHL 06 they stay the same all year so (i play as the edmonton oilers, hometown team as many i'm sure do) i don't play teams like washington each year. Also, if you haven't noticed in 06 which is something i think is completely stupid, if you get a goalie of free agents after a team has realeased him, or trade for another goalie, the pads and helmet are always customized to that other team.

I was watching the videos at http://media.xbox360.ign.com/media/8...43/vids_1.html and i was wondering if you actually have to manually recieve passes. Also, the fact they put stick flex as someone shoots is a sweet detail.
