Yo if you liked the RiftWar Saga (Magician Triolgy), then you need to check out George R. Martin's series "A Song of Ice and Fire". It's really fucking good, the first book (Game of Thrones) is easily one of the best fantasy books I've ever read.

I'd agree, except the second book was my favorite. Myself and two of my friends who are into fantasy series all read it and agreed they were the best fantasy books we'd ever read. Then we recommended it to two other people who had never even read a fantasy book before, and they both loved it. So even if you're not into fantasy books, I'd give it a try.
