This is completely untrue, and it was shown that Dell, when comprably equipped, costs the same, IF NOT MORE.

I was thinking the price difference when you build same kind of machine as MacPro without even looking at the prices except CPU. But here we go then:

CPU: 2x720e
GFX: 85e
Mem: 100e
HDD: 80e
DVD: 50e
MB+box+power: ?

So it's about the same price as MacPro.

And yes, I picked average price of almost cheapest components. And no, I don't think Apple uses expensive components. And it would be a lot easier to compare if we would know what manufacturer components are inside MacPro.

10th edit: And imo that MacPro is overkill for a guy who doesn't do hardcore music, photo or video editing. Buing a PC for 1300e you can run all new games for next few years with max quality. But the negative side is that you can't get OSX.

If you have a new core duo mac, you can't run VPC, which I didn't know until I bought a macbook. (I smell early retirment)

You don't need to run VPC if you have Intel, as you can boot into Windows or into Mac OSX

I agree, but it's also an actual good machine for those of us that like alot of power.

It's upgradeable, you can use whatever monitor you want, its powerful as all get out, and it's a Mac. Nothing I see would change my mind based on what I want to buy in the Mac family. Why get something less powerful?

BootCamp, from Apple. It's free, and you can start up in OS X or Windows either one, as you feel like it.

Secondly, I tried to use Bootcamp a couple nights ago and what I ended up with was a frozen windows installation and about an hour in a half of headache. Fuck bootcamp, it's a piece of shit.
