what bothered me was that no matter how many extra lanes of road i added. it never cleared traffic. how dumb is that. any way. lou is right sim2000 rocked balls. i tried 3000 and it was cool but i deleted it for room.

You have to be careful about how you plan your routes between R and I zones. One other feature I like with SC4 is that zones now automatically build side-streets. You can manually make both roads and streets to adjust traffic flow (streets having less capacity than roads and are much cheaper) in the early stages of cities or in new neighbourhoods.


Another new featrue I like is that when you are zoning a new area (Residential, Commercial or Industrial) the game automatically divides the zone into lots to tell you where individual buildings will be and how much space each will take up. This gives you some more information to help in the planning of your layout.

Apparently there were quite a lot of bugs in traffic/sim models in SC2000, e.g. highways were basically normal roads with different graphics/size.

wow, sim city 2000 SE urban renewal rocked. i actually felt a sense of accomplishment in getting my first city off the ground and eventually fill it up with launch archologies and rake in a few million a year amid low taxes and tons of funding. I ROCK AT THAT GAME MWAHAHAHHA!! 94 PERCENT APPROVAL AS MAYOR!! VOTE FOR ME!

then, making it ten times cooler, I got sim copter.. and i finally figured out how to fly around and do missions in my own city. Landing the Bell212 hellicopter on top of the llama dome was breath taking.

not only could i pick up my citizens with my rescue harness and drop them from 8000 feet, racing them too the ground and seeing how high they bounced... uhhh.. where was I? oh yeah, not only that but also since my city had a military base i got the apache, which has infinite missiles and guns and shit. u can kill mass sims! no joke! theres even this ufo that sometimes flies around and abducts people, i blew that up too! it was damn hard and took a lot of missiles and a lot of cheats but it was cooooooool!

I get bored real fast with SimCity.
Played SC 3000 for a while, but it gets boring as hell after you've played it a couple of times.
Seen as SC 4 incorporates the same concept with better (ok extremely great) graphics I don't think I'm gonna spend money or bandwidth on this game.
I'm happily awaiting C&C: Generals
