I think he was being sarcastic about Frys. It's pretty infrequent where they have a competetive price against stuff you can buy off the net.
The processors and memory that I have shopped for in the past (AMD 64 3200 and the AMD X2 4400; and the Twin-CorsairXMSc2pt ram; and the Abit AN8 SLI mobo) have been about %30 higher in cost at Fry's than at Newegg, where I ultimately bought them from.
The only piece of hardware I've bought that wasn't dramatically overpriced at a brick and mortar store than online was a Raptor 74gb HDD. It was only $10 bucks more at Best Buy than at Newegg.
