I was under the impression that the jackass guys weren't thrown together by a casting crew at all. I'd have to watch a few full tv shows to compare the two but I find imitators are rarely as good as originals.

Some new people were added to the Jackass show, like Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O, but I'm not sure if it was a casting crew or not that put them in. Either way, most of them had been around together a long while - way before being famous.

Johnny Knoxville and Chris Pontius wrote for the same magazine for a while. Knoxville saw Steve-O performing, doing stupid shit, or something along those lines and kept in contact with him.

The CKY crew are real close. Several of them went to highschool together.

Here in Finland we also decided to make a copy of Jackass and the outcome is called Extreme Duudsonit. I warn you, they're annoying and their shit sucks and even tho I don't like Jackass either, I would rather watch Jackass episodes 24 hours a row before watching one episode of the Finnish copy. I also have to mention I hate Extreme Duudsonit from the bottom of my heart. Ty.

i was under the impression that the dudesons have been doing it for about as long as the jackass boys, not that it makes a difference, the initial edge of seeing the first cky stuff has faded and the new stuff is all basically the same shit rehashed over and over again.
