Oh man, are you telling me you saw this and liked it? I tried watching it shortly after having read the book and a couple others of Burroughs', and I wasn't able to get more than about halfway through before I said "F this S."

Predator 1 - The entire 1v1 setup from when he first starts planning everything and covers himself in mud so the enemy can't see his body heat.

The one that stands out to me is the end of Arlington Road when the main character realizes that he was set up to blow up that government building. (I think he realizes it, it's been a while since I watched the movie but I know it was a pretty powerful scene).

I love that movie.

I love that movie.

I was trying to think of that movie for 15 mins couldn't quite remember the details.. I just remembered this movie where the guy realizes everything at the last second and I knew I wasn't thinking of The Usual Suspects...

basic instinct - when sharon stone uncrosses then crosses her legs again

the sandlot - when theyre playing their "night game" and the fireworks are going off also the dog chase to the tune of wipeout

five easy pieces - the restaurant scene where jack nicholson tells the waitress to hold chicken salad between her knees

the shawshank redemption - brooks was here and then hangs himself

american history x - when ed norton is leaving prison and he realizes the black guy saved him through it

there are lots more i cna think of... maybe i will add more sometime, but i am going to lunch now

(i dont know about epic - these are jsut scenes that have always stood out in my mind)

The scene that is engraved in my head and won't leave it is from American History X.. when he puts that black dude with his teeth on the side walk and.. omg.. it gives me chills everytime.

Chow yun fat in "Bullet in the head" when he actually got shot in the head, managed to push away his friend, turn around, unload his uzi at the bad guys, and get shot 20 more times before he died.

Mel Gibson in Braveheart when he gave the whole "they may take your life but they can never take your freedom" speech. The battle afterwards was pretty cool too.

Gandalf charging down the hill with the sun behind him. Then swinging his pimp cane and making it personal instead of casting some magic spell.

Cinque's "Give us, us free" in Amistad.

The deus ex machina effect towards the end of Magnolia.


Worst epic scene ever:

Kevin Cosner in the Postman in the over-dramatized scene where he rode past a boy holding up a letter, then realized there was some random kid holding up a letter, and going back to pick it up in slow motion. Later this scene was replayed, and a statue was made of the moment he snatched the letter, immortalizing the postman.
