    Ten bucks says you looked these up before you posted them, and that you couldn't solve them yourself if the question was posed.

    In other news, AFK while I solve them.
    EDIT:
    Wait, is it 1/x+4 or 1/(x+4).

    Big difference.

            i think. If I read this right, I just move right to left, then down again.

            x = x-4.0;
            x = 1.0/x;
            x = 1.0/x+4;
            x = Math.abs(x);
            x = Math.abs(x+3.0);
            return x;

            haha, there's your elitism.

                  are you just asking for the y value after you take those basic graphs and transform them, given the x values? Cause that's like.... really really easy? Or am I wrong here? This is your math homework or something? Seriously you can't just plug in the x value and figure it out?

                        You just put the x value in for x. I don't know what DTF is trying to do... but

                        x-4. And you say x is -1. so -1-4. That's -5.

                        1/x+4. x is 0. Well you can't divide by 0... 1/x at 0 asymptotes to infinity and then you shift it up 4, so it's infinity. Of course it asymptotes to -infinity from the left and +infinity from the right.. so maybe they want undefined, I don't know what they want.

                        If it's 1/(x+4) then it's 1/(0+4) or 1/4 or 0.25

                        |x-3| x is 1. |1-3| -> |-2| -> 2

                        there you're done.

                        These seem like questions where they would ask you to draw the basic graph of the function than draw the transformation (shift the graph up/down/right/left) as they are all basic f(x) equations with a little shift to them. I think that's what they're trying to teach. But if they give you x and they want f(x)... just put in the value for x and get f(x).

                        Or maybe they want the value at -1,0,1 for all of them? So

                        f(x) = x -1 : -5,-4,-3
                        f(x) = 1/x+4 : 3,undefined,5
                        f(x) = |x-3| : 4,3,2
