But it is a botched joke. He meant say: "US". Get US stuck in Iraq. How fucking hard is that?

God damn it Kerry. As someone on the Daily Show put it: "Thank you for losing races you aren't even running, Kerry."

          4. Its less than a week until election day... obviously the Republicans will take advantage of anything that they can.
Agreed. Kerry was "in training" for the politics of the Presidency, I highly doubt he would have dared to even subconsciously make such an insult to our troops like that. The entire statement was poorly worded and probably was either impromptu or a botched script. It was absolutely stupid with either meaning. I think that blunder is probably worse than the shit George Allen spews consciously. Thanks, John, way to go right before the elections.

how can u even care the tiniest bit about that joke, like you have no other problems. this is totaly beyond my understanding. the thing is, what he said is sort of true i guess, isnt THAT the actual reason to make a thread, talk about? no. its a "bad joke". this is how u get manipulated. a bad joke, media attention. BAM. lightshow and flags. nevermind reality.
Just because there are worse things happening in the world doesn't mean that less worse things are ignored. Yes it's a greater atrocity that people are dying in Iraq and people are starving in the World but this thread isn't about that. If you want to talk about worse things in the world then start a thread about it, because this thread is about John Kerry's blatant defamation of our troops. John Kerry sued some Vietnam veterans that collaborated to make a film about his history and obvious anti-war rallies he created after he was in the war.

Sen. Kerry filed papers with the US Senate creating a “legal expense trust fund” to handle costs associated with his defense in the Vietnam Veterans Legacy Foundation (VVLF) lawsuit. This action appears to be questionable since he’s defending actions he undertook before he became a member of the US Senate and while he was running a presidential campaign which has nothing whatsoever to due with Senate business. Ironically, the account is named “Fund for Truth and Honor.”
The veterans’ lawsuit stems from Kerry’s failed 2004 presidential bid when his campaign tried to prevent a documentary about Kerry’s 1971 anti-war activities from being broadcast on television and cable stations, or shown in theaters.
That film, “Stolen Honor: Wounds that Never Heal,” included interviews with Col. Day and several other Vietnam POWs. The film documented Naval Reserve Lt. Kerry’s portrayal of Vietnam veterans as “war criminals” before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Those accusations, the POWs said, were false, threatened their survival, and lengthened their captivity.
They also resented his use of the name “Genghis Khan” to describe the actions of the military. Senator Kerry is no different today. Recently, he said on national television that US soldiers “broke into Iraqi homes and terrorized women and children.”

The rest of the article can be found here

Anyways, wasn't trying to veer too far off topic just pointing out Kerry's continual defamation for both current and past troops.

Editont respond back with obvious things Bush has done bad because as we all know, the last election had 2 poor candidates to vote for.

Bush was actually born and raised in Connecticut, I think his whole speech thing is just an act. What an attention whore.

I think it would be very unwise to let Kerry run for president again, what is it next year? 2 years?

If he was going to, it would be suicide to do so now. All the republicans would need to do is say he doesn't support the troops and bam, there go his votes.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

Well, I think Kerry is facing a long, uphill battle before he can get any credibility back. It took Al Gore 6 years of left tough-talk, then a quick move to the middle before he was taken seriously after the 2000 Florida fiasco. Kerry in 08 would just be an embarrassing, political mistake---it would be like what Joe Lieberman is doing, running as an independent.

Right now, the Democrat candidates for 2008 are Obama and H. Clinton. Maybe John Edwards. I'd like to see Obama take a shot, but let's face it---nobody is gonna vote for a black guy, no matter how smart or charismatic he is. Hillary Clinton has even worse chances to win...not even liberals want her to run.

Isn't there a slight chance Al Gore might run again too? (though I wonder if you Americans would want him with his latest talk and stuff about the global warming (the big American companies is what I am referring to here) because he would sign the Kyoto treaty within minutes.

I think Gore has a chance, but I don't know if he's a slam dunk. He's been afk from any political office for a few years now, and he has yet to officially throw his hat in the ring. He's testing the water to see if he would have a shot.
