I'm going to be buying a £80 cd rack, two wardrobes, a free standing lava lamp, two tickets to see Avenue Q, a bracelet and a jumper, coupled with the house I have just acquired means that a) I won't be buying a ps3 any time soon or b) nor will I be able to afford the internet in this house which means I won't be posting here much

Now, back to what Necro said, the "2nd gen" 360 titles look much more polished and graphically detailed than the launch PS3 titles.

              Gears of War (Xbox 360)

Resistance: Fall of Man (Playstation 3)

It's pretty obvious that Resistance is the game Sony put up to combat Gears of War. Since the game only just dropped within the past couple of hours, we've only had graphical comparisons to go by. You know, since PS3 prides itself on being the baddest motherfucker on the planet in graphics, it's only fair to judge based on their strong point.

The differences are obvious, too. In Gears, the detailing on the terrain, the models, the shading. Everything is just done so meticulously. I have people stopping in my house, or my friend's house just to watch it, cause it's so beautiful to watch. Resistance, on the other hand, looks very unpolished when sitting side by side. Sure, it looks much better over a PS2 game, but it's nowhere near the detail and aesthetic beauty of Gears. And, by the way, the PS3 games are on Blue Ray, so they have much more space ... you know, for DETAIL.
A couple of things, but first off, was that Fall of Man screenshot on an HD tv? I can tell Gears of War is and there's no room for even a fair comparison when one game is on an HD tv and the other isn't, not to mention the shitty lighting in the Fall of Man screenie.

But regardless, there's not a fuck ton game companies can do with shooters anymore, Fall of man is going the WW2 route for the most part, and Gears of War is using the chainsaw idea from Warhammer 40k, along with some starcraft armor to mix things up. To be honest, specifics like that don't bother me one bit, as long as the gameplay is fun. My buddy with his 360 is coming back home for thanksgiving, so I'll be able to see if Gears of War is as nice as everyone is saying it is, but I have no idea when or if I'll even play Fall of Man. 600 bucks + 60-90 bucks per game? Fuck that shit, and fuck you Sony.

Another of my buddies is going to try and get a Wii late saturday/early sunday morning (12:01 at a walmart). I'm at his house usually at least once a week so atm I don't even need to get a next gen system.
My father in law was telling me over Thanksgiving about this amazing bartender at some bar he frequented who could shake a martini and fill it to the rim with no leftovers and he thought it was the coolest thing he'd ever seen. I then proceeded to his home bar and made four martinis in one shaker with unfamiliar glassware and a non standard shaker and did the same thing. From that moment forward I knew he had no compunction about my cock ever being in his daughter's mouth.

In wisconsin, at a walmart, there were 50 ppl lined up for the ps3, the store only had 10 so the assist manager had an idea. He set up 10 chairs and told the line, that, on his signal, they were to race for the chairs and the people sitting in the chairs would get the systems. Well, it turned into a riot, and one 19 yr old had to be hospitalized after running into a pole.

U.S. Politics plays a role in the release of the new PS3.

AP) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. said Thursday that a staff member for former Sen. John Edwards -- a vocal critic of the retailer -- asked his local Wal-Mart store for help in getting the potential 2008 presidential candidate a Sony PlayStation 3. Edwards said a volunteer did so by mistake.

Edwards said that the volunteer "feels terrible" about seeking the game unit at Wal-Mart a day after his boss criticized the company, saying it doesn't treat its employees fairly.
Interesting that Edwards wants one....I wonder what his favorite game is? His kids are too young to have one.

I'll be buying one when the price has dropped after the first few months. What can I say, I am loyal fucker and I have always had playstation.. and I don't really care if the xbox360 has a tad bit better graphics then sony . Or whatever else you can say, if it plays the games I want it to play, I have no problem with it.

LOL @ Price Drops. The PSP alone has cost them billions in lost revenue, so I doubt they can afford to bring a Premium for less than $600 for the next few years.

Plus, even when the price drops, you still will be paying more for it than you would for XBOX360 at that time or even both a Wii and an XBOX360.

It's just NOT worth it, in any sense. The only reason I would evereverever get a PS3 is for MGS4, and I heard that's being ported to 360. So now the only reason I would get a PS3 is to sell on eBay to buy a Wii and a 360 and a shit load of games.

Fuck Sony, fuck 200,000 units nationwide, fuck this shit. I want a company that loves their users. Maybe that's why I love Nintendo, but that STILL doesn't explain why I would buy a 360 over a PS3.
