XBOX LIVE itself is not revolutionary. The XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE on the other hand, most definately is. Especially now with movie and tv marketplace and whatnot. And the only reason that consoles have not furthered anything in the FPS genre is that 95% of FPS games for consoles are simultaneously released for PC, or soon after. G.R.A.W. for example brought new stuff to the FPS genre with the active HUD system they put into it (which is based on actual experimental military equipment). I'll admit the genre is become played out, but to say there's been no innovation in ages is just plain wrong.
Oh btw, Morrowind is the only RPG on consoles? Anyone remember a little game called The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion??

When it comes to PS3 vs xbox 360 I still prefer the xbox. My problem with console gaming is the horrid lack of games. I know you probably think there are many games but that just is not true. All the "good" games are shooters. It's like a million versions of halo. There is no depth to console gaming.
I come from the time of complete PC gaming dominance. We had EVERYTHING. For example, a variety of great RPGs in all kinds of settings (Fallout, NVN, and so on) all consoles have, basically, is morrowind (which is available on the PC). Some PC games were revolutionary. For example Homeworld, that game was brilliant.
We're now in the heralded time of the console and what do they have to offer us? Gears of War, a rehash of tired old uninspired genre, first person shooters. Shooters, by the way, were perfected on the PC and consoles have brought nothing new to them (because there is nothing new to bring). Half-Life was probably the greatest there ever will be, System Shock brought interesting new elements to an FPS. PCs have had multiplayer online gaming for years as well all know being that we play a MMO 5 hours a day. Why is "xbox live" considered such a fucking revolution?
Also, graphics always have been and even now still are better on the PC. The only complaint people have is that technology is expensive and rapidly gets outdated.
So, fuck the 360 and the PS3. I'll spend my money on a Wii, which claims that they are trying to target "lapsed gamers" with something new. It's about damn time. PS3 and Xbox are doing everything to avoid thinking outside the box. Sure, I'll spend $200 for a little vision. If it sucks I can return it. The Wii should have been made LONG ago. It's pitiful that with all the money you spend on the PS3 the only thing even remotely revolutionary is the half-assed attempted at motion sensing. PATHETIC.

The original XBOX outputs at 480p. Enough said. Graphics aside, Nintendo has always seemed like the family-friendly console company. They make "cute" kids games more than anything else, in my opinion. I've never seen the appeal of it, myself, but hey to each their own. X360 ftw.Originally posted by Jason View Postthe post i made just prior to yours didn't just go over your head, it went into orbit and took satellite photos of your head as it was passing over.
the wii outputs at 480p, which technically speaking is HD. that aside, i basically said in my previous post "why care about graphics quality before gameplay quality?" to which you replied, "the wii sucks 'cause it doesn't have HD." there is no reason you can't/won't be able to play war games on the wii. i'm not aware of any specific titles or release dates at this very moment, but that doesn't remove the possibility that war games will be developed. finally, as to your comment about the wii-mote being thrown into tvs, my guess is that's user error and not equipment failure. if you're dumb enough to try to make a throwing motion in a virtual setting with the same amount of force you'd use in the real setting, well then it's your own fault if your tv gets busted. the wii-mote isn't like having 100% true virtual reality. it's just a step in the right direction. a step in a new direction i should say. and once again, as i've said in the past, it's a major reason as to why i'd like to have a wii.

PS3's are available now, but people are just not buying them, while Wii continues to be sold out the moment they are stocked.

Haha Necro, I like it when you say stuff!
About the wii-motes wrist bands... Ya... They work without being tossed around like crazy. People who break them are just idiots. I'm pretty sure in reality you could use it without no wristband at all.

there is a war game coming out for the wii called Batallion Wars 2 if you mean by controlling an army. plus, the wii is the perfect console for fps games which is obvious. the wiimote can almost serve as a mouse in which you can play rts games like starcraft (blizzard is pondering the idea) oh, and about hd games, who gives a flyin jesus fuk? if the hd game sucks, what good is the $59.99 - $69.99 you spent on it? "YO GUYS I GOT THIS HOT NEW GAMES GRAPHICS ARE HOT CMON LETS GO LOOK AT IT. DAM IT BE LOOKIN HOT AS FUK NA MEAN"
