All I have to say is this whole graphics stuff is nonsense. If you are buying games for the graphics then you are buying games for no reason. As far as the Wii is concerned, I played the fuck outta Wii Sports but it is kinda boring now. The novelty of the controller has worn off in that game. Pretty much the only good Wii game out right now (good as in doesn't get old after a week) is Zelda, and the new Zelda is a masterpiece. I just can't wait for the new Metroid to come out, I have a feeling it will be awesome. I'm still waiting on Forza 2 and Fable 2 before I get a 360, and I see no reason at this point to buy a PS3.. especially with people saying the wireless controller sucks ass.

I am really really curious to see what happens to Sony's gaming division after the PS3. By all accounts it seems to have been a fuck up. I really honestly think they over estimated how many people would be willing to cough up that much money for the console. Also, so far no games have been made that actually use the space that the Blu-ray drive allows. They could have run on a PS3 with a DVD player in it instead. That would have cost about the same as the 360.
By all accounts its a fuck up. If any other company did it we'd all be sure they would fail. But this is Sony after all, universally accepted as the one big power house in console gaming. So its really hard to imagine the PS3 failing. Only time will tell.
I am curious, if anyone still reads this thread, to get some anecdotal evidence about how well the PS3 is selling. For example, I work at a store that sells PS3's. We've had 1 or more unit in stock ever since Dec 21 or so. People ask if we have them, and if told yes they don't buy it, they're just curious. People come in all the time (5 or so a day, this is consistent) asking if we sell the Wii. Which we don't. I imagine if we had Wii signage up even more people would ask. I went to E B games early the day after I got my Wii to pick up Zelda and there were like 5 people waiting for the store to open that asked if they had a Wii and then left because they didn't. Two people called and asked the same question in the short time I was there.
We also sell the 360 which has been selling better than the PS3 (partly due to the shortage of PS3 units) for the entire christmas season. The guys at head office sent us about 30 XBox 360's a couple weeks ago and I thought those fuckers were out of their mind as usual but we've sold out of the pro bundle and only have 4 cores left.
I guess what I am saying is demand for the Wii (which has sold more already) appears to be much higher than the demand for the PS3, and the XBox 360 which has already sold 6 million units as of before the christmas shopping season was selling in much higher numbers than the PS3. They must be last, obviously, in market share for next gen gaming consoles and don't seem to have the demand required to catch up once they manage to improve production.

PS3 is the most useless machine for its time ever created after the sega Dreamcast. The Blueray technology is way to early commercialized. What sort of fucking game needs 50 go of space???????? The Blueray device cost 1100 to procude, eaech one of them and they sell the whole machine at huh.. 600? 700??? Sony are just hammering themselves with this shit. They don't have any choice to sell it at such a ridiculous price because of the 360 and the Wii.
But even after this, i suppose Sony still has more than enough money to accept the losses of the first year with the ps3 and break out with the blueray technology after a while. Still, i just hope it just won't do like the Dreamcast (unpenetrable hacking device and etc) and flop after the first year due to the incapacity of evolving the market fast enough to bring the blueray to its climax.
On the other hand, either a xbox 360 or a wii are fun, they have a lot of promising games (more for the xbox tho) and the wii is hella cheaper. I heard all the required accessories for the 360 are expensive and it just gets the bill fucking huge.
After trying out the Wii with one of my friend, i would definitively buy a Wii if i had any money to waste on more than two games. Zelda and call of duty 3.Last edited by Kings; 12-31-2006, 03:19 AM.

Update
I got a WII!!!!
It totally rules. I have a 360 right now. I've bought and returned that damn thing so many times. I'm going to return it in a few days. Its still in the box. Only got it because it was $100 off at future shop. Also my family just got a new 40" HD TV so I am having a hard time taking it back. I should keep it! But I can't afford it... GAHH!!
Anyway, Wii fucking rules.

Go to gamespot.com, maybe not the ULTIMATE resource, but a decent one. Choose xbox 360, then reviews, then select RPG. You get four games, and only Oblivion is highly rated.

I agree with Audit there.
PS3 isn't any better than the 360.
If you saw the Launch-Game for PS3 I can't remember the gamename but, if you look at all details, it's really a PS2 with HD..
And I think PS3 Online will suck this time too, so no point buying a 600$ thing.
GTA4 will come on 360 too, look at these PS titles coming to 360, like Dynasty Warriors, PES, etc etc.

Morrowind and Oblivion aren't even good examples of console RPGs either as they were entries to a series that began on the PC.

You are doing nothing other than proving my point far as I can see. If you think telling me there is a "marketplace" is any sign of a revolution thats crazy. You can't blame simultaneous releases with PC versions for the consoles failure to make anything interesting either. My points remain valid and correct.
Oblivion and Morrowind are practically they same thing. There is much less variation than at the height of PC gaming. Gaming has taken a step backward, and when considering the giant leap of technology thats a shame.
You've spend so long playing remakes of Half-Life that the tiniest thing you think is some kind of brilliant evolution. Do you even know what Homeworld was? They created a genre with that game. Consoles have nothing on the PC gaming of 5 years ago.
Seriously I am just disapointed. I seriously am. I have money I could spend. I really want to play something interesting that I could get some enjoyment out of it. I bought a 360 and realized that consoles are such a terrible rip off. I used to love gaming. Lately its done nothing for me and these next gen consoles bring nothing to the table either. Unless, of course, the Wii lives up to the hype. Better graphics on the same game play, I'm sorry, but that isn't worth my time.
