I wasn't trying to say that because Europe drew the borders in Africa, there are now wars. I am saying it's a big root of a lot of the problems in Africa, but not the only root.
Basically, before we discovered it, you had Africa, and there were Tribes living all over the place in their own territory. And sometimes there were wars, you can compare it to the stories about the American Indians before America was formed, they would have fights among tribes for whatever reason. Anyway, every tribe had his own territory, and there were wars at times, yes.
Then Europe came, and England and France (Belgium got Congo and at the moment I am not sure if other countries have colonies, but I know England and France both had a big share in Africa), basically set around the table, had a big map of Africa in front of them and then they went: ok chap, you take this part and we'll take this one. Then you can have that and we'll take this. Etc. So they divided up Africa under the countries involved, England and France and possibly Germany too, or more, not sure.
Then came the 50's and 60's and everyone in Africa wanted independence, so they got it. But the borders were drawn and what you ended up with, was all kinds of tribes thrown in together in one country, and you usually have 1 bigger tribe who basically take over the country. So there are all kinds of different tribes living in 1 country, trying to form a government and stuff, which is unstable a lot of the times. Combine this with the social/economic status of the country and you get a breeding ground for dictators.
Now what happened in Somalia is there was (is) an interim Government which (I am over simplifying thins here a bit) is 1 Tribe and then there was another tribe and they said no way, and started fighting and overthrowing the Government, they now control the biggest part of Somalia. Ethiopia supported the Government so they don't really like this other group taking over.
